It's like, that's how you can tell the movie is set in the future. Interactive menus? Beam me up, Scotty!

Just once I want to see a disc with non-interactive menus. You put that sucker in and can't do shit.

"Will they survive the river of wind called Slipstream?"

So this movie is just about a river of... wind stalking Mark Hamill's fake beard

Awesome. I like that they chose a picture of Bill Paxton where he is clearly wearing the headset from Apollo 13. Who can identify what movies the other actors are photoshopped from?

The Ben Kingsley photo is from Sneakers.

He does look like he is doing a Chris Rock imitation.

And why is it that "graphic artists" continue to use photoshopped images of handguns with the cylinder housing retracted? Yeah, it looks sorta cool. But it indicates the magazine is empty. Or jammed. In any event not ready for primetime.

It does exist, as one of the options on the DVD for Chris Morris's disturbingly insane take on the sketch show, Jam. It isn't as drastic as it sounds but you do have to physically unplug the player to stop playback once the option is selected!

I've been de-railed for god-knows how long trying to find the motivation to get through the Jaaaaam lava lamp remix, so I haven't seen that before. Just fantastic!

You know...I think I've changed my mind. Those Slipstream covers may actually be brilliant because, if nothing else, they have piqued my interest in the film. I mean...how could you NOT be curious about what it's actually like after seeing all that spastic nonsense being used to advertise it?

This would also explain why I own THIS:

Which is even more unfathomably awful than anything you see here would indicate.

I can verify this, as I was stupid enough to select this option (among an array of variously insane ways of viewing the already insane-enough show) - I mean, when you see a big red button that says "whatever you do, don't press this button!" what else are you gonna do?

(And swo: you need to get Jam a.s.a.p. - and if you haven't already got The Day Today and Brass Eye, well, I might just have to release a tiger through the front door of your apartment.)

Oh, I'm well aware of most of Mr. Morris' contributions to society, but have yet to check out Jam. I'll try to remedy that post haste.

Well, "Bizarro-World" is a good way to describe the movie...

Technically not DVD covers, but these are the 2 posters released today for the upcoming X-Men: First Class.

They are not even trying anymore.

I guess that's Magneto, but why does it look like Adam West-era Batman?

While looking for something else on amazon.ca, I found this dvd cover for NIght of the Living Dead:

Image

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that Chloe Grace Moretz?

PS. off-topic but the reason for my search, does anyone know where I can find the 1940s horror film Dead of Night?

It might, but this UK Optimum DVD is much better.
