Has anyone heard about a new DVD edition of "Les Vampires" in the works? Would that be a re-release of the Image/Water Bearer edition or a U.S. release of the UK Artificial Eye version or something different? Thanks!

I'm still hoping that MoC will join the "Hitchcock Blu-ray madness of 2012".

There's a new empty line with BD spine numbers on the web page, I guess we'll go into the 40s with the next announcement. So at least six new BD releases?

I'm guessing they have May sorted Island of Lost Souls is out then, and i remember Nick saying that Ruggles will probably be out in May. we'll probably get in April Muriel or Tabu. Ro.Go.Pa.G in June and im hoping Die Nibelungen will be out in June also. [-o<

Then whatever titles from Universal, I hope for at least one Hitchcock England needs representing in the MoC series. Im just guessing at all this.

How about Peter Lorre's Der Verlorene? As far as I know it isn't available anywhere with english subs.I saw 35mm print of this(with awful white on white subtitles)few years ago and bleak, shocking ending literally made me jump out of my seat.

The big banner picture of Hitchcock would seemingly suggest it's likely.

I'm half expecting OEDIPUS REX to make up the Pasolinis in Q2, but maybe just a vain hope...

I guess it will be 2 out of 3 of Uccellacci e Uccellini/Hawks and Sparrows, Oedipus Rex, & Porcile/Pigsty...

MoC Pasolinis do seem to match previous Tartan titles...

The Gospel According to Matthew

Tartan Pasolini Vol1 -
Accattone
RoGoPaG
Love Meetings

Leaving as possibilities for Q3...

Tartan Pasolini Vol 2 -
Hawks and Sparrows
Oedipus Rex
Pigsty

Indeed all 3 of these could be included if say Hawks and Sparrows was treated as an extra rather than standalone release...

UPDATE: Just seen Peerpee's self explanatory previous post...

It would be a shame to see that film get sidelined like this, though it's probably a harder sell than the other features, especially as it would offer the opportunity to add the other Toto / Ninetto films as extras. However, the rights situation around those films might be insurmountable. I know that Le streghe is tied up with MGM in the US.

Very pleased to hear there's more Pasolini on the way.

'Uccellacci e Uccellini' is a great film and deserves a release of its own in my opinion, although I'd obviously welcome it as just an extra. It has one of my favourite ever opening credit sequences, with the credits being sung as they appear on the screen!

How about Swedish cinema?

I'm pretty sure Tomas Alfredson's masterpieces "Fyra nyanser av brunt" or "Torsk på Tallinn" don't have any UK BD releases.

With his success with "Låt Den Rätte Komma In" and "Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy" I'm sure they would sell OK.
