Yes, I saw that and ordered that and Three Faces of Eve. I only spent about $14 but didn't have to pay any shipping. I'm surprised that they'd practically give away a preorder that way.

Good catch, it was charging me ~$4 for shipping with one title, but two made shipping free (or maybe look at it as making the second title four bucks cheaper!)

So ... the pretty good "The Deep End" gets a date ... while the never released in the U.S. and very good "The Reckless Moment" by Max Ophüls gathers yet more dust and decay. Dang!

The image leaves Gary speechless and he then forgot to wrie about the sound : it seems the mono track hasn't been ported from the DVD. :|

It being a 70mm production, I'm certain it will have had multi track sound on original release, at least on the 70mm prints.

No street date yet, but here's a promo pic for the Rodgers & Hammerstein collection:

Image

New-to-Blu are:

Carousel (1956)
The King and I (1956)
Oklahoma (1955) (2 Versions - Todd-AO and Cinemascope)
State Fair (1945) (per cover art pic on right side) (unclear if this also has the 1962 film)

These will also presumably get individual releases, whether day-and-date or later in a scattered schedule (like the Kazan titles) remains to be seen.

Another Predator Blu-Ray up for Pre-order.

Okay, how many fucking Predator Blu-Rays are there? In all seriousness, I've been hearing the other ones have DNR problems so, are they going to fix the problems this time?

Considering "South Pacific" retains the 2 discs from the earlier release, I'm concerned why they are not including the second disc from "The Sound Of Music"

Did South Pacific put Roadshow and Theatrical versions on different discs maybe?

They did, but IIRC the Roadshow version was SD.

Will the restored cut be included in HD? When they screened a new DCP at Film Forum, it was the theatrical cut. I would love to have this in HD, but without the restoration, I doubt I'll pick it up - I've seen this film several times and I've only returned to it for the restored cut.

Amazon Japan says the disc will have the commentary and trailer. Both were on the DVD. Nothing about the preview version or the documentary from the DVD version.
