What happened to the back cover of the Mr. Fox set? Now the packaging shot makes sense. Same thing happened to The Darjeeling Limited back cover. Why does somebody forget to print (or mess up) the back cover for Anderson releases?

Clearly it's intentional, so that the package looks "cleaner" after you purchase it and remove all the back cover clutter.

This doesn't bother me, but is it just me, or is the "front" of the slipcover on the wrong side? The disc package slips out right-to-left, not the intuitive left-to-right.

It's just you. The packaging shots show that the slipcover is normal as any other release.

As for the disposable back, it's probably (as swo17 said) to make things look cleaner. A full wraparound cover, if you will.

Will Criterion replace a damaged case and cover art even if not purchased from their website? I recently bought a Blu-ray copy of Seconds from Amazon, and the plastic on the case is torn in front and the cover bent and wrinkled (it was this way inside the shrinkwrap, so nothing to do with how it was shipped). As the disc and booklet are fine, I see no point in seeking a replacement from Amazon.

Send an email to Mulvaney and he'll probably hook you up with a replacement.
From what I've heard, it generally doesn't matter if you bought the release through Criterion.com directly or not, as they'll still help you.

WOW. So far this is an A+ month for covers. Picnic at Hanging Rock (a gap for me personally) is gorgeous, and really makes me want to catch up with that film. All That Heaven Allows was going to be a day-one purchase anyway, but that cover seals it. Beautiful.

All That Heaven Allows is nice, but I've got to say I prefer the older cover. I do love the 70s paperback design of Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Solid month for cover art! I think Judex and Picnic at Hanging Rock are the real winners. The Hard Days Night cover seems uninspired though, which is a shame.

I'm thinking the same thing. There might be something unique planned for this one in the printing process that can't be faithfully displayed in a simple jpg image. Let's hope that's the case because on its own... meh.
