I believe the UPC on the sticker is identical to the originally printed one, except for a '0' added at the end.

A little update to indicate that B&N were indeed shipping the corrected second printing of the disc; the UPC on their site was the updated one, but it's always nice to have the physical object in hand to confirm this.

Buyers who look for this in stores and know about the mistake on the first pressing might be confused by the fact that the cardboard box says "First printing" although the BD itself identifies it as the second one. It would probably have been cost prohibitive to have a whole new run of packaging made.

No chapters and timeline as previously reported, but there are partial workarounds. You can still jump to a point in the film if you know the precise or approximate time point you are looking for (I used it to go check that the problematic black screen had been corrected), while "Resume playing" works with this title. These functions, particularly the second one, are sometimes not possible on some discs.

The image quality looks sensational. I am really looking forward to watching the whole movie, which I haven't seen in nearly three decades.

I'm about to send some brown ones in as well, does the corrected Eraserhead disc say Second Printing on it? (No additional sticker on the shrinkwrap backside, B&N store-bought.)

The back of the case will most likely still say "First printing" - even on the corrected version.

To find out - check the disc itself. It should say Second Printing on the disc - right before it says 89 minutes.

Bought this today, read these comments regarding the glitch, became depressed. My depression was eased by your post. Indeed, my copy has "First Printing" on the cover, but "Second Printing" on the disc. Whew.

Although the blu-ray is excellent, I hope this title is on the radar for a 4K release. They already have the 4K scan, just add some HDR and stir.

I saw it on 35mm at the Million Dollar theater a couple of months ago in LA, courtesy of the Secret Film Club. It remains an amazing achievement. I was inspired to make my first-ever video essay after seeing it again on the big screen (the first time I saw it in the theater was at the Nuart in the late seventies).

this may be an incredibly dumb question but what benefits does HDR offer for black and white film?

High Dynamic Range. More levels of brightness from blasting white to inky black. More shadow detail. HDR is not all just about the color space. Not a dumb question, though.

Was rewatching this and was caught off guard how much the lady in the radiator scene seems mirrored to Twin Peaks. The floor design recalls the red lodge and even that tree seems to serve a similar purpose to the one in The Return. Anyone know of writings or even just feelings that delve further into this connection?

I noticed the tree-Arm connection as well in my recent viewing. Also, the entrancing "In Heaven" precedes Peaks' frequent meditations on Julee Cruise's hypnotic singing

It's one of a number of recurring motifs in Lynch's world. The Return feels very much like a summation of Lynch's work.
