Yup for the first; come on, it's 4 independant artworks ! for the second (of which I bought only one, as usual).swo17 wrote:Especially in this case where the spine art is connected across three releases.mfunk9786 wrote: Wed Aug 13, 2025 7:42 pmJust couldn’t have dealt with spines/editions that didn’t match
Totally different from having to buy four copies of the same Taylor Swift album to complete a picture

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I bought all 3 from Arrow, which were surprisingly (as in, I don't recall Arrow splitting pre-orders) sent as each were available. It ended up being relatively cheap too, since I finally used my Arrow credits on them, but I found shipping fees OK for once, and I suppose the currency change with euro is better than it was. My one grip had to do with Paypal, since I had to switch mid course to credit card cause of the usual crap from them and Arrow's website.

In both of Arrow's mixes, the crowd laughter is absent and the sergeant laughs alone, making that brief moment feel a bit awkward.
/Reply/ I checked on my system. The Sergeant laughs alone on the mono and on the 5.1 you have to increase the volume and you can hear them laugh faintly. It's certanly meant to be there as you can see their mouths move.
One other omission is the scene where the drunk general is taking them towards the bridge and the line "Shooting hasn't started yet" is completely missing but is on the subtitle card. I switched to both the 5.1 on the Theatrical and the Director's cut. It's very quiet and faint but you can make out the line with the volume increased.
On my Eagle 4K disc both the laugh and the line are clearly spoken and at normal levels."

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I actually did the opposite. I placed an initial order with Arrow, but checked on Amazon UK a bit later just to compare price & with the shipping it was $10-$15 cheaper & so I cancelled my Arrow and placed it with Amazon. I should know by now that trying to save a few bucks isn't always worth it & that this would definitely be one of those times.MichaelB wrote: Thu Aug 14, 2025 8:45 am I ordered all three from Amazon UK. A few days after the official release date of A Fistful of Dollars, they cancelled my order with no explanation. So I cancelled the other two myself and ordered directly from Arrow - and thankfully all three turned up on or near release date.

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I was looking up TGTBTU online to see the special features on the LE, because its too small to read the back. And holy cow, these are already going for about $150 a piece on the secondary market. Do Arrow LE's often jump this much so soon?

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
Bigger titles can. I missed The Warriors LE and it very quickly went up to $90-100. IIRC, the same happened for the Conans, and for another release whose title I forgot (maybe Legend).
Considering the popularity of the Dollars Trilogy, it's not surprising to see everything going fast : selling out the LEs, having standard releases available, and seeing scalpers appearing on the market.

ya, it truly is the LE sets in 1 box, for about 2/3 the cost the individuals were priced.

Insane. cheaper to buy the box set from Arrow with all the LE additions than it would be to buy the individual standard editions of all three films

The booklet looks a bit thin in the rendered image. Are we sure it's got all three booklets in one?

It would be nice to get confirmation from Arrow about whether any booklet content has been removed. If so, I'm good with the individual releases. But if not, I'd be interested in switching out for this space saverandyli wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 3:22 pm The booklet looks a bit thin in the rendered image. Re: The Dollars Trilogy
quick scan of the features. the individual boxes list 4 Authors, for a total of 12 essays. The Box lists 6 Authors, but at least one of those Authors has multiple essays, so possibly more than 6 in the box. But there are authors not mentioned, so <12, if the lists are accurate.swo17 wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 4:13 pmIt would be nice to get confirmation from Arrow about whether any booklet content has been removed. Still an amazing deal for those who missed out (or got smart on these 3) on the individual releases, to the point I'm wondering how the business case were built (in a genuine way, as it's quite an unexpectedly big discount).

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
It's definitely funny...like who is the customer looking for a limited edition box, that comes with 95% of the content of the individual limited releases?...who is the customer that is looking for standard edition releases that are the same or more price as the limited edition box set? I guess they must be out there, because to have SO many choices in so small a time is definitely confusing...and that's before you add the Kino 4K versions. I would guess the average Clint Eastwood fan will have no idea what is going on.tenia wrote: Tue Mar 03, 2026 5:12 pmThanks for the precision/confirmation.JamesF wrote:Confirmed - only two essays for each film, including mine about the versions of GBU.swo17 wrote: Fri Feb 27, 2026 4:13 pm

Re: The Dollars Trilogy
I think things need to be looked at from a sequential point of view : it's likely that people missed out on the individual LEs despite wanting the content. For those, the set answers this, but the discount is so heavy it makes the current standard re-releases kinda moot.
But in any case, I suppose the fanbase is so large that Arrow can provide individual LEs followed by standard rereleases AND then a discounted LE boxset.
I just do wonder how Arrow can afford to discount the set this much.

Presumably had a contractual number for the individual releases and then renegotiated (or initially planned) for the combined set
