Blu-ray release date is September 21st, right? Thank you, thank you!
What is the SRP? Around £25?

To answer Eerik's question according to amazon.co.uk you're correct about both the date and SRP.
I'm sure I saw the specs for this release elsewhere on the forums but I can't find it so I thought I'd ask here - will the combo release duplicate extras on both the BD and SD-DVD or will some extras be on the SD-DVD only? Will the SD-DVD be PAL?
Since the Blu disc will be region-free as far as I can tell I'll certainly be picking it up (probably along with their other Blu releases all at once), I'm just wondering if the fact that I'm not region-free for DVDs means that the extra disc will be a coaster, or worse, that I'll miss out on some of the extras.

greetings board,
so was there a final word on the "regionality" of the Sunrise bluray? on amazon.co.uk it lists it as "Region 2 (This DVD may not be viewable outside Europe)"
would really like to order this but sounds like it might not play on my ps3.

Amazon UK usually just ports over the DVDs information for their blu-ray information. I'm pretty sure that "Sunrise" will be region-free, if it hasn't already been confirmed. Eureka, I believe, is dedicated to trying to ensure that all of their Masters Of Cinema titles will be region-free. The first two releases, Mad Detective & Tokyo Sonata, are both region-free.

On the DVD Beaver mailing list, David Hare has posted that this BR will indeed be region-free, and that MoC intends to make all of its BR releases region-free. Mr. Hare quotes Nick Wrigley from MoC as the source of his info.
So, good news all around apparently!

Perhaps so, sweetie darling, but as you can see by the recent questions asked in this thread, not every one is aware of this.

I watched the SD MoC release of Sunrise again this afternoon and it made my mind up to preorder the blu-ray. I can't wait to see this film again in HD, and the added 68 page booklet sounds great!!

Watching the Czech version of SUNRISE this morning on Blu-ray gave me goosebumps. I could stare into each shot endlessly and notice things I hadn't seen before.

Here are actual fullsize grabs from the MoC Blu-ray of SUNRISE (Czech print)
What's silly is the size of those screengrabs (though they look phenomenal!)
Re: the book decision, of course I am still going to buy this right up (assuming it's region-free, yes?), but for future reference (and in case you ever put this to a vote), thick books make movies seem more important, and also, I prefer to do my reading on the crapper, not while sitting in front of a computer screen.

Sad news. There's nothing greater than dwelling into a thick booklet after seeing a good film. Reading the articles online isn't quite the same. I hope this isn't a new trend you're starting!

It just got way too large for us to manage. We'd be sending out something the size of a doorstep in the mail. There are lots of other costs associated with such a large package too.
We didn't want to include some of the essays and not others, so we cut the lot.
We probably will not be doing any booklets larger than 48-pages again. Thanks to the Blu-ray box.

Oh, well. If it's a cost thing, it can't be helped. So long as all the books up until this release stay as big and chunky as they are.
It's still Region free, right?

So the book has gone from 120 to 68 to 20? Seeing the screen caps, I'm getting this anyway, but that is disappointing. A nice booklet helps make the package feel special.
Does this mean there is material in the original MoC DVD booklet that isn't being ported onto this blu-ray edition?
