I think I'm going to opt for the $10 or so lower overall price on Amazon.co.uk. No offense to steelbooks.

Just to confirm: this only applies to Steelbooks, right? Regular BD of ToE will be available through regular channels, Amazon UK, MoC Newsletter, won't it?

Thanks.

Where does it say that on twitter or any other direct message from MoC/Eureka?

Everything's going to be available everywhere, apart from the Steelbook of TOUCH OF EVIL which is (unfortunately) an HMV exclusive.

Thank you for clearing this up, will wait for your own pre-order sale then. Need to make up my mind about the Touch of Evil steelbook though ;)

Getting Touch of Evil (Steelbook) is out of question for me. So I am satisfied with the price of £12.85 for plastic case, P&P included.

Where do you see that price? The Hut and Zavvi sell Touch of Evil for £13.85 and they are the cheapest!

I haven't tried it myself but AUG10 apparently gives £1 off a £10 order at TheHut until Aug 8.

The Touch Of Evil steelbook is now down to 15 pounds, so i suggest you cancel and reorder because HMV doesn't give you your money back automatically like Amazon with their Pre-order Price Guarantee.

The Eureka site is currently not selling blu-rays. Any idea on when the'll resume sales?

There was a fire at the Sony DADC warehouse last week, during the riots. All stock held there was lost.

Everything is currently being repressed, so it will be a few weeks.

LA PLANETE SAUVAGE is getting a proper Dual Format upgrade, and the DVD will be reauthored from scratch, with the new HD master.

Think I'll wait for the price to fall on the dual Murnaus. They're nearly double the cost of the remaining DVD releases and about a fiver more than the Blus. I thought one of the benefits of releasing like this was to help keep costs down.

If you're talking about the prices at Amazon - they're a law unto themselves. They move around and fluctuate according to how many preorders they've had and which way the wind's blowing. Things should level out after a while.

The MSRP is actually lower on the dual format editions than on the Blus. The single format editions are now inferior and MoC is trying to unload remaining stock by offering them at a deep discount. The dual format editions are brand new and are being discounted about as much as any other new release. None of this should be particularly surprising.

I'm referring to your sale that we were e-mailed about today.

The old releases were at these prices, or around these prices, pre-fire so that's not true at all. There's plenty of demand for the single releases and most people won't even be aware that there's another one coming. If anything there's probably been a small spike in demand with people noticing that the online retailers have little stock.

I just saw these new dual ones as more of a reprinting rather than a whole new release so I didn't expect them to be starting at the £15 purchase price before following the usual trends. I'm happy to wait anyway.
