No wonder so many found his acting in the eighties so cartoonish
I'm so sorry about that

HAHA.
Don't be.
And I have to agree with you...I love love love that silhouette, but that stupid drawing mars would could've been a fantastic cover.

The cover looks like a Library of America edition meets a comic book.

That, Tom Hagan, is a perfect description.

I wish they would have used the Polish poster art (the same applies for most films)

For a while I had this hanging in my hall until friends with small children stopped visiting. Might be an improvement over the projected CC cover though.

Did Gerald Scarfe have anything to do with that poster? It looks like a missing animation cell from The Wall!

Question:
Does the confirmation of The Wages of Fear coming to blu-ray also mean that the DVD will be rereleased with the new model cover and package? I refer of course to the "wacky C" and the 8-figure case.

Considering that did not happen with The Man Who Fell to Earth or 400 Blows, I'm inclined to say NO.

Yeah, right. Too bad, though.

Why? The reissue is a great package.

I knew it looked familiar.

Not a big fan of Criterion's former case for double-discs. I like the 8-figure case better.

I hope that's not delaying your buying it.

Kind Hearts and Coronets arrived fairly beat up and it was I think the first large case of its kind to arrive that way. Something tells me the old style is sturdier and stronger. Not as cheap.

I got a bad KH&C a few months ago, where one of the discs had come loose and had ALL that space to get knocked around in transit. I've never seen another Criterion in a case like that (figure 8 for the 2 discs, but with the spine still double wide). Were there other titles released in such a case? I'm just curious.

Does Criterion replace things like this, or not really?

The
Traffic re-release. Luckily, they quickly realized the error of their ways.

I was hoping for the new package, but that's not delaying me buying at all.

My Elevator to Gallows is classic double wide. I guess it's just a limited number that went the other way? The only time I've seen a double wide 8-figure was to include some gadget that took some space (A pin in Walt Disney Treasure Oswald).

Pardon for my ignorance. I was just wondering if Criterion's Blue-Ray releases are short and wide like 'standard' issues in this format tend to be. Or are Criterion's Blue-Ray cases the same size as DVD cases? Many thanks in advance.
