I'm sorry, i don't understand why the Olympic films are in this guessing thread!
There is already a set date about them, isn't there?

But if you guess them you are already at least like 90% right.

They are December releases. I think my guess and the others that include it are fairly representative of the opinion that due to that release we're going to have at the most two more releases, likely both for December 12th. I could kind of imagine if there'll be another Eclipse it'd pop up, though.

There was a recent restoration supervised by Grover Crisp of SONY, to be exhibited internationally in December. I might be a bit early on this one. More likely to be announced in a month or so (if I understand the rights situation. Is "Park Circus" a barrier to US release if SONY is doing the restoration?)

Here's the announcement of the screenings.

I'd expect it'll do a tour as it'd undoubtedly be a title that's fairly likely to do weeklong runs around the US with a new restoration. If Tales of Hoffman could merit it then certainly this one could. Could easily see it as a June/July release though.

Park Circus just administers rights on behalf of the owners; for example, if I wanted to do a theatrical screening of Agent Cody Banks, I would book it through them rather than MGM directly. It's not a barrier to a Criterion release, and in the case of A Matter of Life and Death, Park Circus doesn't administer any of the U.S. rights, only the "International" (read non-U.S.) rights via their arrangement with ITV. (Columbia bought the U.S. rights in the '70s when they were thinking about doing a remake.)

I've randomly guessed A Matter of Life and Death a few times before just out of hope. It has the Christmas association, so maybe they'll release it in December.

I've been seeing lots of guesses this month and many previous months for a Written on the Wind upgrade (some of them even mine.) Is this an expectation that there is some evidence for, or just an outside hope? I'd love to see the rest of the Criterion Sirk films in Blu myself.

They've repeatedly tweeted a screenshot from the movie (of curtains blowing in the breeze) apropos of nothing. The movie itself has been restored by someone other than Criterion in at least high-definition, as a region free French blu-ray exists.

For me it's just a low spine number that hasn't been upgraded yet.

How about an American adolescent themed December? Not likely all will come out in same month, but maybe one will.

Somebody posted to Criterion's FB that they announced on their blog that announcements were postponed. No indication of what blog they were talking about, however.

Well, on Criterion's Twitter feed they've announced Election, an upgrade of General Idi Amin Dada, and Monterey Pop along with the Olympics box.
