I'll pre-order Home of the Brave, The Goddess & Fear Strikes Out as soon as the pre-orders are up.
Has anybody seen any restoration news for this? Surely it would've played TCM fest or something if there was one... Surely they can't be releasing the DVD-era master on BD.
I assume like a lot of these Paramount titles they’ve put out, they are older masters. Hud is an outlier though, as they generally look pretty good or better (Paramount in general tended to take excellent care of their materials)senseabove wrote: Wed Jul 08, 2026 5:17 pmHas anybody seen any restoration news for this? You do realise Tangier stars the Siren of Atlantis right?!ChunkyLover wrote: Fri Jul 10, 2026 1:55 pm I'd like to know which dimension that Singapore and Tangier are even considered "essential".
Lust, Caution is missing the location/time chyrons. KL's original release was also missing them but they did a replacement program. I've posted screenshots from the Imprint disc here, which can be compared with the correct way the shots should appear here.nicolas wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 9:07 pm+1. The film is currently locked in a 2K DI and IIRC they did quite a bit of effects work, so that's probably the basis an eventual upgrade has to work from. Still, with subtle HDR and good encoding, it'd undoubtedly be a stunning disc. That's something we won't get from Imprint, neither in HD nor 4K unless FiM is involved, but here's hoping for one of the better labels.ryannichols7 wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 8:28 pmyes I'm hoping they have good plans for that. I love that movie and wish it was getting a full 4K... hopefully at some point from Kino or even Criterion (who haven't worked with Lee for a little while)therewillbeblus wrote: Fri Nov 21, 2025 6:54 pm Hopefully Lust, Caution comes through with more features too. Great film, and I never picked up the KL release

Glad I slept on MUBI's release, would be interesting to compare the releases though.swo17 wrote: Fri Jul 31, 2026 5:38 am The Kingdom Trilogy on 4K UHD, authored/encoded by Fidelity in Motion and including a video essay by Michael Brooke
Super that this is being released again, but hilarious that an intentionally grungy verité style 16mm production is getting a 4K treatment (even if the remaster has improved things some). In any case I will be curious if there is any discernable benefit to the UHD. Further to his, my usual bugaboo of PAL sourced productions will come into play here, as Mubi went to the trouble of presenting this as a 25fps BD in the UK and a 24fps BD in the US.Captain Paranoia wrote: Fri Jul 31, 2026 6:30 amGlad I slept on MUBI's release, would be interesting to compare the releases though.swo17 wrote: Fri Jul 31, 2026 5:38 am The Kingdom Trilogy on 4K UHD, authored/encoded by Fidelity in Motion and including a video essay by Michael Brooke
I am somewhat curious on whether or not will see anymore LVT releases from Imprint.
Don't forget Hell Comes to Frogtown and The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed-Up Zombies.domino harvey wrote: Tue Jul 28, 2026 7:55 pm
