I can just about cope with a series of blue cases followed by a row of clear. It would just ruin my sanity to have to slot a clear case among a bunch of blue. It's very petty of me, I admit, but I don't have the cash to seek therapy yet.

That's very interesting - might be worth flogging the 'blue' versions now while there's demand, and getting the Dual Format versions as they come out? -- What did you do with METROPOLIS? Take it out of the slipcase?

And live without the titles? Are you mad?! In all seriousness, I may consider swapping the blues for clears as they are released (although I don't know at what pace they'll be reissued); I'd just have to keep the remaining blue versions...separate while I do it. Although this approach may become problematic if Soul Power and Metropolis aren't getting Dual Format releases.
peerpee wrote:What did you do with METROPOLIS? Take it out of the slipcase?
Metropolis is one of the few titles that I haven't got yet, and I'm not in a great rush to get it - I'm not a huge fan of the film, I own the previous MoC DVD of it, I saw the restoration in the cinema, and it doesn't appear to be going out of print any time soon. I'll pick it up eventually, don't get me wrong.

But that slipcase would come off immediately. No steelbooks and no slipcases to be found in my collection, except a small number of those Fox CinemaReserve titles tucked away in a corner.

Don't worry though, these habits are limited to my DVD and Bluray collections, playing Solitaire on my computer, and keeping some weird symmetry when I scratch my face. I haven't moved onto light switches and taps yet.

Received my copy of The Iron Horse today! Not had a chance to watch it yet but the packaging and booklet look great! In any case another good reason to order direct from Eureka IMO!

See, I actually checked the forum today to see if people have already received their copy. Delivery to Germany usually takes a bit longer but I can probably expect this to arrive by the end of next week in the worst case. Yay ;) Really looking forward to this one as I haven't seen the movie yet!

When do these offers generally end? I want to buy something but need to see how $$ plays out until my next paycheck.

There wasn't a newsletter sent out, they just decided to add the October releases without telling anyone.

I wish MoC will sell The two Antonioni duals and Coeur Fidèle next month! Preferably around 12 pounds if possible!

It's annoying that the prices on the Sept offers page do not match the prices in the Paypal cart, at least for 'Nosferatu' and 'Alone Across the Pacific.'

Is it just me?

Just checked this and your right.
Alone Across the Pacific shows as £7.99 in the cart listed as £7.50, Nosferatu shows as £8.50 instead of £7.50

They should just sell everything for £12 right?

Anyone fancy helping out an indecisive soul here?

I've got Diary of a Lost Girl, There's Always Tomorrow, Bellissima, Rocco and His Brothers, La Tete Contre Les Murs, A Time to Love and a Time to Die, L'Enfance Nue and Der Letzte Mann in my cart - can't really afford to splurge at all just now but I think I'm gonna treat myself to four from those eight.. They all look like great releases and they'll all be virgin viewing experiences for me! Which should I go for?

Speculation (regarding potential future Blu-ray upgrades or the likelihood of any of them going OOP) which might help make my decision a little easier more than welcome :)

L'Enfrance Neu is the best of that lot.

Gaumont have said they will release some Pialat on Blu-Ray in 2012 so perhaps L'Enfance Nue will be among the releases, whether it will have English subs or not is another matter. Nick said earlier in this thread that "They did not sell anywhere near enough to warrant a Blu-ray release, I'm afraid. At this point in time, I can't see us ever upgrading any of our existing Pialat releases to Blu-ray." L'Enfance Nue is a terrific film though and you should certainly pick it up.

Rocco is amongst their finest releases and is absolutely definitive. It's a fanatastic melodrama. A film I've seen four or five times and written about and despite it's length of close to three hours I've never been bored during it. I would highly recommend it. Bellissima ain't half bad either. If you like Italian cinema of this period then you'll enjoy it.

Rocco is being released on Blu in France however, and with the London warehouse fire MoC may see this as an opportunity to upgrade their title also.
