They've stated that the Apu Trilogy probably wouldn't be ready till 2013... but then there's always the 10,000 other New Year's clue boxsets to wish for.

I noticed that Cria cuervos' screencap has changed, which pretty much guarantees that it's getting an upgrade soon, probably in October.

Screencaps change all the time, usually when someone at the office is bored. It is not an indicator of upgrade, per se.

But that there's a Blu-ray coming out (out?) in the UK makes it exceedingly likely Criterion would follow suit

Found through Facebook: "
Mulholland Drive has been deleted from YouTube due to copyright infringement rights by Criterion" Could somebody fake one of these? If not, holy shit.
Edit: Reading more carefully, it says the entire account was deleted because of these claims, and there's no way of knowing what other films were uploaded. Still, it's worth noting that The Criterion Collection and NBC/Universal are the only claimants.

To answer your question - I'd imagine there's some way someone could fake that, but since that's a link that's directly on YouTube, I'd say that's legit. In other words: YESSSSS

I updated my initial post, but didn't want the addendum lost at the bottom of the previous page:

Between Eraserhead on Hulu and this very specific copyright claim, I'd say things are still looking good.

What was the name of the exact video that gave the copyright claim? Through that, you may be able to find the account name, and by typing in the account name you could see what other videos the owner had posted...

Here's a
cached version of the user's ("Nicholas Max II") "full movie" playlist which includes
Mulholland Drive.
Unfortunately, it also includes other titles from both Criterion (
Paris, Texas,
Down By Law, the "probably-coming"
The Tenant) and Universal (
Man on the Moon,
Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels,
Swimming Pool).
Very sad, though this doesn't mean that Criterion won't release
Mulholland Drive one day.

Even if Criterion had licensed the film from Universal, it makes no sense for them to be sending out copyright violantion notices on the internet.

Exactly. If Criterion licenses it (which doesn't seem entirely out of the realm of possibility), it will only be for disc-based media. Universal and StudioCanal will retain streaming rights so they'd be the complainants. I'm also not sure how
The Tenant got upgraded to "probably coming." I've seen some guesses based solely on the fact that it bares some relation to
Rosemary's Baby and Criterion sometimes releases related films with sequential spine numbers, but it's nothing more than wishful thinking at this point.

My random guesses:
Rosemary's Baby
Bitter Rice
The Life Aquatic BD
The Blob BD
Ever since they first appeared on Hulu, I thought that we might get an Eclipse box of Olivier films from the Korda library, consisting of Q Planes, 21 Days, Fire Over England, and The Divorce of Lady X. Granted these are all lesser films in Olivier's canon, but I suspect that the name attached would be sufficient to get an Eclipse release somewhere down the line. Why not now?
Since these will be October releases, I'd really like to see Kwaidan, Onibaba, or even Empire of Passion on blu. But, I don't remember Criterion ever doing more than a single horror film for October before, so I doubt that we'd get more than the two American titles listed above.

Personally I think The Divorce of Lady X features Olivier's best performance.

It's been a couple of months since Criterion posted the video of Phillip Kaufman in the gift closet. I think Rosemary's Baby and Henry and June will probably be the two big new releases in October.
They haven't released an MGM title in ages and Satyricon was clearly visible in the teaser image they posted on Facebook for 2012. I expect either it or Trilogy of Life will show up in October.
The Soft Skin should also be showing up any time now...
Ministry of Fear was clearly visible in the 2012 teaser image as well. My gut says they'll probably give it a low key December release (same slot as Design for Living) but it could very well bow in October.
I see someone posted Taking Off as a possibility. Milos stated back in January it was in the works. I think it'll probably be an early '13 title.
