To be fair, I think they only announced this 3-disc case finalized a month ago.

For the digis, I'll have a look since I have most of them (except the latest one, that's the delay from getting Criterions to France), but I didn't felt they were flimsier than before, even VS cardboard outer case of sets like the BBS. But yes, they're flimsier than the 8-case old digipacks, but I'm not sure it's a good reference since it's a whole different design.

However, they certainly are flimsier than the Godzilla one, which I remember being very thick (but that might be a wrong feeling due to the outer sleeve being extremely tight).

The Scanners cover is pretty cool, pity I don't like the film enough to want to buy it. The Brood next month though? [-o<

The Big Chill cover makes me have 0 interest in ever seeing the film. And Scanners does the exact opposite

Ugh, all of those Demy covers are horrible. Couldn't they at least gone with the original Janus poster for donkey Skin?

I wonder how the packaging is gonna work for the Demy box. More Cassavettes than Zatoichi, no?

It seems so boring for a filmmaker so vibrant and beautiful. Like if they took the Trilogy of Life design and reconstituted it to be totally uninteresting. That said having these six (I hope some shorts get on as extras though) in a bag of poop and I'd be excited.

Me 3rd for the Scanners cover. Hypnotically scary. Too bad I have no interest in it either (fingers still crossed for Crash).

I'd guess so. Maybe more "World Cinema Project" than Cassavettes.

Can someone grab bigger images of the individual Demy titles?

think Demy will be individual skinny digis ala Cassavetes, since each seems to have their own cover

Ah, that does seem more likely.

Demy will probably be six voyage to italy sizedcases and one single case for dvd supplements or it will be five voyage to italy sized cases and one wcf sized case for whatevertitle would be a two disc release.

The big chill cover reminds me of browsing video rental stores in the 80s. Its so dingy.

The demy covers look like the credits for mediocre looney toons from the 60s

I like the Demys. They actually remind me of the same scheme applied for Pasolini's Trilogy of Life (maybe the same designer?).

Scanners is also really well done, but Insomnia is a bit of a nightmare. Not sure what they were thinking with that one.

Based on the Big Chill art, Tootsie should be equally artless and predictable.

To me, the Big Chill cover art is suitable for the film. I would say they had zero options when it came to the font.

Insomnia cover is an improvement.

Not crazy about the Demy... it seems like they have a habit of producing digipack box sets where all the individual covers have white backgrounds. Looks to be a step down from the Rohmer box.

Scanners cover is very cool.

I like the covers for the individual Demy films, but the box cover is pretty boring looking. The Big Chill is very 1980s, but that's appropriate for the film. Scanners is as crazy as it should be.

And Pickpocket is still great.
