I was going to guess the Hellman westerns but we all know that they always release Westerns in May (just like they always release horror films in October).

I take my cue from Walter Huston in Dragonwyck and turn the Bible to a random page and interpret the scripture to arrive on my predictions

Those films have been in the pipeline so long it'll be nice if they actually come out. Seeing is believing.

Is this a clue that they're announcing DRAGONWYCK today?! I think it is!

The Nostradamus Quatrains are a good source for what's coming.

That reminds me, I remember there being talk a while ago that Punch-Drunk Love was a near-certainty to join the collection. Does anyone remember what this was based on?

D'oh! I missed it! Very excited to hear it's coming though and VERY glad to hear it's "Complete" so it should include Jour de fete, Trafic, and Parade. I'm hoping it also includes all the shorts and alternate versions. With any luck (not to mention all the extras from the old Tati DVDs), the Criterion box will eclipse the one from StudioCanal.

I don't even care now if no titles actually get announced today.

Is it too early to put my old Tati DVDs (and Playtime blu) up on eBay? It'd be nice to finance the new box by selling the old discs while people are still paying good prices, but I'd hate to part with them now only for this to get cancelled or something.

The problem is that after this announcement, there will be a lot of people unloading old discs. You can try now and hope it sells soon, but you'll probably soon be undercut by others. I'm guessing you already missed the boat for the best prices.

Yeah, I'll bet that boat sailed. I'm sitting on the Criterions and the BFIs.

Sigh. You're probably right. Maybe I'll just give them to friends. I have a couple of Tati lovers who don't have a blu-ray player and who don't ever buy anything.

I imagine you could still get a good price for them just not crazy OOP prices perhaps. would certainly defray the cost of the new set to some degree.
