Bit of additional info re: the Mizoguchi set. Kaneto Shindo's 1975 doc Kenji Mizoguchi: The Life of a Film Director (previously available on Criterion's Ugetsu release) will also feature.

Anyone seen any reviews of Ivan the Terrible? There seems to be nothing apart from the odd review where the discs themselves aren't actually reviewed.

I'm finding the same issue with their release of Come and See.

Uhh...ditto! It's beautiful. I'm just wondering what type of packaging it'll be, I hope it isn't a big amaray.

I'm guessing it will be 2 x Blu-ray discs?

The cover says "4 disc set".

I haven't got their THREE COLOURS release yet, but I think that one is just a box with three individual cases. I hope they take that route.

Yeah, but it also says "CRYSANTHEMUM" and "TBC" on the 15 cert, so the "4 disc set" might be a carry over from the 4 disc DVD artwork?

4 x Blu-rays is gonna cost a bomb to make!

It must be 4 blu-rays, they charge £20 more than the DVD set!

I hope that The Eel will be announced on BD soon, thinking it was equally delayed with the Mizoguchi set.

It'd be nice to have it on DVD at the least. It's been forever. The new release date is 2/27 so I hope it's actually released.

This is the release of the year so far to me. I couldn't care less about the price. It's an essential collector's item.

That could be an intriguing premise for a sequel though, to find out that he actually did.

If you've watched any season of 24, you know that he usually ends up defusing one particular tiny terrorist conspiracy (foiling Dennis Hopper, Peter Weller, Arnold Vosloo etc) but failing completely in any wider goals too (saving his wife, not getting shipped off to China to be tortured after invading their Embassy, not saving the President from being poisoned, etc), so perhaps audiences targeted by that ad will not be too surprised!
