Would love a disc release of all her short films to go along with however Criterion releases this in the future. A girl can dream…

This is my wish too, and one that doesn’t seem outside the realm of possibility. They were all on the Channel for quite a long time (if they’re not still there). But Criterion might stubbornly insist on slotting this feature into the Criterion Premieres line on a Blu-ray with no extras but an interview.

If they rolled out the red carpet for Flow, I think someone might be able to get them to put out a few more extras.

No wonder it went out of print. Amazing news!

Edit: hopefully this means Janus also acquired La Dolce Vita’s US rights from Paramount.

I think this has more to do with the Lynch estate pushing this towards Janus

I assumed this was still owned by Mel Brooks' Brooksfilm production company. Has that changed?

Probably but Lynch and his estate could've nudged Brooks to let Janus handle this

Not sure what this means for other Brooksfilms properties, like The Fly, but I also don't think it's out of the question that in exchange for The Elephant Man, Criterion has agreed to release Spaceballs. Or maybe that's a ludicrous theory.

How would they better the UHD of Spaceballs Kino Lorber already released 4 years ago?

In all seriousness, if we were ever to get a Brooks property, I think Young Frankenstein is the most deserving. I would also appreciate The Twelve Chairs or The Producers if the opportunity presented itself.

Criterion did release The Producers on laserdisc. Unlikely, but given their penchant for re-releasing their laserdisc releases on blu/4K whenever possible, I would think this would be the first Brooks release if given the opportunity.

My gut instinct is no, but also, you never do know considering their great relationship with Sony. It was maybe my favorite feature last year and wouldn’t mind the release at all.

The film doesn't have a Blu-ray release anywhere, so I'd be thrilled with a release via Criterion.

This is Lumière, l'aventure continue, correct? Listed runtimes don't quite match -- 106 minutes vs 104 minutes -- but close enough. Would be great to get it on Blu-ray (or even on a 4K disc). I've been checking at its French distributor Ad Vitam's social media sites from time to time, but it still only has a VOD release in France with no physical release in sight.
