Is there a minimum order, or can the freebies be ordered along with just the one titles - so, for example, I order Thunderbirds and Garcia is the freebie with it?

You have to spend $100 (about four of their titles)

Ah, doesn't seem worth it then as it's likely to get hit by UK customs.

While the exchange rate for VAT purposes published by HMRC remains under 1.667, it is possible a 5 item order (4 titles to get $100, plus the freebie) will incur a customs fee, as it would be declared as $25. You can ask SAE though to remove mention of the freebie from the customs label, as I have in the past (use the additional comments box when ordering). This way, the label is marked $20 instead. On at least one occasion though, they forgot to do this despite my request, though I was lucky enough that the box got through anyway. This may be because the current exchange rate is so very close to 1.667 anyway. Right now it's 1.6628, meaning $25 is £15.03, a few pennies above the threshold; Border Force may be being kind enough to ignore such tiny amounts. Regardless, there's always a risk.

So where does one find the giveaway on the SAE website? & 4 PM is EST?

I think it briefly (i.e., while it is available to order) appears in the New DVD Releases box (Twilight Time tab), about the same time as the other new pre-order releases appear there. It will stay there for as long as it is available to order (probably a few minutes). Then the trick is to submit your order with it and the rest of your over $100 order before 100 (or whatever number they're offering) other people with it in their carts do.

4 PM is probably wall clock time, so approx 2.5 hours from now.

I seem to recall a mention of TT posting a warning if a title is running low on stock, but I can't find any such info on the website. :-k

I've been monitoring the SE's site for the last ten minutes, and I haven't seen any listing for an autographed Garcia.

It was there 'cause I got one by refreshing the TT page, but it's gone now. I tried logging out to see if it was just blocked for me since I already got one, but no, it's gone

Well this is the third time I've had a freebie in my cart & ready to go (@ 4pm), but it wouldn't process my card when I hit confirm, then at 4:01 I get the "cart changed item no longer available message".....I'm beginning to wonder if these free autographed copies are real.

It was there, and I grabbed one. You just have to be super fast, or super lucky.

I don't think we know how many signed copies were available, so there just may have been a handful. I feel for those who didn't get this, as I am still kicking myself for forgetting the Front give-away last month

Not that I ever try and get any of these freebies, but, really, when they disappear in a flash like the manipulations of high frequency traded stocks, well, maybe it's time for TT to rethink how they're doing it. Maybe they ought to enter everyone who orders within the first hour or so in a lottery for the giveaways. Either that or you'll all need new ISPs with servers right next to Screen Archives.

Okay, so my uncle is Robert Screenarchives, but I'm suuure that has nothing to do with my ability to get these freebies

I would never ever even bother if it was a lottery system, so I hope they don't do that-- I'd rather miss out on a few and just save the cart for next time than spend $100+ for nothing

Every freebie I've wanted (not this one, as I already picked it up when I got The Front freebie) I've managed to snag (5 so far). Having 200Mbps fibre optic internet probably helps :-"

Haven't the autographed copies been listed on the main SAE page in the past? I had assumed that would be the case this time.

The annoying thing for me is I am usually working when they do these & don't have access to a computer while working, so it's a rare occassion that I have off and can be at my compter when it happens. So to have it disappear from my cart after hitting confirm because something (credit card processing?) stalls the order for each of the 3 times (over past year or so) that I've been able to, is quite frustrating.

I got it into my cart but had stupidly forgotten to update my CC info. Oh, well, that was $130 I didn't really need to spend.

4pm on a weekday is a pretty stupid time to do something like this. If I lived in the States I would simply not be able to partake (at least not reliably).

Maybe the next giveaway will be the Firm and there will still be copies available into the next freebie after!

I assume they do this time because they've consulted with their server on a good non-peaktime to get hit

What happens when they sell out?

Does that mean they're never going to be released on BluRay again, or is another distributor then able to license them and produce their own edition?

TT has a 3-year license on all the films they release, after which point another company could theoretically put them out.

And yes, let's move the offers to a more reasonable time when they can sell out even faster?
