Finally, a FC release I probably won't buy, even out of curiosity.

To be fair, that probably describes half of Cates’ CV.

Eh, I don't know about that, but it was the only time she had the misfortune of co-staring with Bibleman.

This is trash with a nude celebrity, it will sell better than anything they’ve ever released

And if I’m remembering it correctly, not having seen it since its “Late Not-So-Great Movies” showing on Toronto’s CityTV in 1989, it isn’t even fun in that insane way Endless Love or Roadhouse are. It’s just painfully boring and offensive.

Boring, maybe; but what's offensive?

True. Everyone on Blu-ray.com are already saying how excited they are that this is getting a Blu-ray because Phoebe Cates gets nude in it. People like them are probably the reason the majority of new releases from boutique labels is shlock like this.

Honestly, it’s been 35 years, but I have a vague memory of pretty silly Arabic stereotypes in the villainous characters, but I could totally be misremembering it.

I haven't seen it since the mid '80s either, so you may be right--I barely remember anything about it, even Cates.

And Fun City said on social media that Heavenly Bodies and Paradise are their fastest selling titles.

Thanks for bumping the thread to remind me that Bad Company just came out. Looking forward to some Jeff Bridges nudity

The so-called site exclusive editions of Paradise and Heavenly Bodies are up for pre-order on DiabolikDVD.

Fun City tweeted
From the Paramount library & soon making their worldwide Blu-ray debuts via Fun City Editions: Daniel Petrie's LIFEGUARD (1976), starring Sam Elliott, & Richard Benjamin's RACING WITH THE MOON (1984), starring Sean Penn, Elizabeth McGovern & Nicolas Cage.

Wow, Racing With the Moon may be their first non-feelbad release

A number of their releases (particularly earlier on) don't strike me as feelbad. Rancho Deluxe, Smile, Party Girl, Married to the Mob, and even stuff like Jeremy and I Start Counting! don't leave me with that feeling

Natural Enemies?

Not so much...

Especially when compared to the also starring Robert Forster Vigilante!

I would like to hear a commentary by Alexandra Heller-Nicholas on a physical release.
I caught up with this after Tracy Letts raved about it on that podcast. Anyway, thought you might like to know that the FCE release's booklet does feature a good essay from her

John Sayles' Baby It's You coming in 2025. Great news, glad to hear more Sayles on its way (and since it's a Paramount title, hoping it'll be Region B friendly as with all the other Paramount titles from FCE).

The remaining copies of Heartbreakers, Smile, and Born to Win are $8 each at Vinegar Syndrome. All three are going OOP next week.

MGM taking them back. All 3 are worth owning, and that’s an amazing deal. Born to Win was one of those (supposedly) public domain titles that people would buy at convenience stores and then trade in for more credit at Blockbuster Video. We had dozens upon dozens of copies of it at any given time

I think all of FCE's MGM licensed titles are OOP.
