It is indeed superior.
However, it retails at 20 euros... And if you order from a third party on Amazon.de, it costs 15 euros to have it delivered to America...

You can get this film from
Australia, released by Universal/Studio Canal. It's a port of the UK disc and has an interview with Claude Chabrol as an extra. Very cheap, too.

Comparing screencaps of the two releases, I don't think it is. One is clearly superior to the other - not perfect, but clearly better.

I went through reviews of Exposure Cinema's other available titles and they were all pretty good as far as image and sound were concerned. So it might be a more than welcomed release for Lang fans. And that way I won't have to buy the Wild Side.

Have you seen the Madman release of Ministry of Fear? It has a commentary, but it's not in the Beaver comparison so I really have no idea of how good it looks.
edit: I'd be curious to know how the Madman Western Union stacks up against the Optimum, too.

Dark Mirror and
Beyond a Reasonbale Doubt.

Damn, sounds like the commentary is a piece of shit- that's a shame. The R2 caps look acceptable enough that I doubt it's worth paying double or triple for the Madman disc, then.

Don't fret in the case of
The Dark Mirror. It's currently available in a superior transfer from Germany with removable subtitles.

Beyond a Reasonable Doubt is coming from Wild Side later this year I believe.

I thought Wild Side said it could be coming in 2011. An Exposure release could still come out first. However, they were doing a poll on their site to see if people want it released, which may mean they have no concrete plans yet.
