This is quite an interesting piece of performance art on Gaumont or Godard's part, I must say!

I just got my Amazon notice of delay too. Damn. What the hell could be holding them up now? At least it looks like the box design is final now.
Let's hope they take the opportunity to add Moments choisis... so at least there'll be a happy reason for the increasing wait time.

Maybe the delay is allowing for English subs on the bonus materials, in which case this would be a welcome wait

That would be great as well. I've emailed Gaumont several times inquiring whether there will be English subs on the extras, and never received a response. I certainly hope there will be.

So... I guess it's out?

I think Amazon says it out and on sale...

I really hope that's true. I haven't gotten a ship notice yet, though, and Amazon hasn't yet updated my shipping estimate either, it still says July on my preorder. I'll believe this only when I'm holding it in my hands.
Edit: And Gaumont now lists 4/4/07. Seriously, I don't understand why it's so hard to set a date and just stick to it.

There are totally unsubstantiated rumours that it's Godard doing last minute tweaking.
I was also thinking, because one of the major subtitling issues is the density of the subtitles required on screen to cover, speech, text and soundtrack lyrics (as well as any simultaneous speech) why don't they just have (instead of multi language subtitles) speech, text and lyrics as seperate subtitle choices?
A pain in the arse for casual viewers perhaps, but a realistic option for those of us who care to know everything that's going on. (And will these dvds have many casual viewers anyway?). Maybe AE could look in to it, then we could all swear and buy two copies... or just stop our whining and learn to speak french...

The shipping date on my set has been updated to Wednesday, April 4. So, it looks as though these might actually be making it into the mail soon, if they haven't started to already.

My shipping date was moved up too. I'll believe it when I see it but I'm hopeful.

When I put it in a shopping cart at gaumont.fr, it says "expedition - immediate." But I'm not actually buying it from them, so I can't tell whether or not it's just another tease.

According to the email I received from Gaumont earlier mine was shipped today and I've just checked my credit card and it was charged yesterday.

Did you order from amazon? I did & it's also telling me April 17-19, but I think that's their estimated delivery date, not their ship date. Of course, my french is ... not so good.

My order also has an estimated delivery date range of April 17-19 but an expected ship date of tomorrow.

I'm glad the box set's cover art has been updated as it's shown on Gaumont's website, the old photo displayed for it on Amazon.fr is particularly underwhelming.

Well it seems to be really, finally happening! My order status at Amazon now reads:
