It's hard to tell if the Cinemathèque Française's staff keeps being absolutely out of touch when programming such movies with originally 0 specificities (disclaimer, debate, whatever) or if they're just trolling at this point. You'd think what happened some years ago with Brisseau and Polanski would have served as lessons, but it seems like it didn't.

I don't think it'll be as much of an issue though (I mean, Depardieu aside), except if I'm not aware Blier has been accused of sexual assault (he did sign a petition defending Depardieu in 2023, though). And while it's definitely interesting to see such a difference, Préparez vos mouchoirs (Blier w/ Depardieu) has récently been released on UHD in France, Beau-père was restored and released on BD in 2020 and Calmos in 2022, all with 0 controversy whatsoever.

I suspect Dom was referring more to the tricky sexual politics of Blier's films than any specific charges levelled at him. Although of course Depardieu's presence is a headache these days (and for vast swathes of post-1970 French cinema).

Yes, I supposed it was the reference here, hence the 2nd part of my post, but I do think there is quite a difference between the matter with Last Tango and Blier's movies, and wouldn't want to put them into some kind of equivalency.
