so, we won't know before the official announcement the releases?
That's no fun.

Last month was the first real month I was actively searching the phantom pages (pretty much know every major player in Bull Durham now) so this is disappointing.

What's more disappointing is how helpful I found the cast/crew database for general research and for choosing what to buy.

Today, I’m going through phantom page withdrawal.

I've got a sneaky theory I have a *new* release-day workaround, which is indicating upgrades might be announced for the Fugitive Kind and Heaven Can Wait, as well as five other to-be-announced new spines. We'll see if I'm crazy, and I'm also expecting this is a kink they'll not be repeating because it looks like an error.
Update: There's an HD clip of the latter now up, which should be a confirmation.

Ribs, theories are of little use without peer review.

Yes, well, my thought was "this is dumb and is probably not true," but the HD clip is a double-hint so I'll share.
The filters dropdown currently has the following entries in the "countries" section:
• {"id":23333,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":17998,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":2379,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":878,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":43944,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":28576,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":44971,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":27902,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":45134,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":29142,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":45197,"historic_country_id":53,"film_id":29220,"primary_flag":true}
• {"id":45458,"historic_country_id":232,"film_id":29044,"primary_flag":null}
If you take the last set of numbers there (the "film id") and plug in the two smallest ones, they come up with those two films, and the rest are in the range where new titles would be added to the database. The country id also indicates that all but one of these are from the US.

27902 = Here Comes Mr. Jordan

...could there be a "Heaven" box set or something with Heaven Can Wait, Matter of Life and Death, and Mr. Jordan? Seems weird to have that come up in this considering these two other similar titles.

Altered States + Kelly Reichardt's first 3 films

Where is this number taken from?

Well, Heaven Can Wait now appears in the forthcoming section.

Also, the forthcoming section's banner image appears to be from The Tree of Life.

LOL, they pulled the BD extras from the listing for Heaven Can Wait but they absolutely were there 5 minutes ago.

Did you just plug in random numbers, or did you actually find a listing that brought you to those?

Is it conceivable these will be digital-only under the Criterion area of Filmstruck?

All films page in list form by spine #. They're at the bottom among the Zatoichis and Eclipse...

They even come up in searches...

Well, working backwards, these might throw something of a spanner in the works:
https://www.criterion.com/films/29500" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://www.criterion.com/films/29497" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Or if we get a Criterion re-release of 42nd Street before anyone releases Footlight Parade or Gold Diggers of 1933, I might start a riot. A very well-choreographed, symmetrical, hypnotically rhythmic riot.

Those two titles have been added to Filmstruck *very* recently, so as of right now I think it's more likely weirdness re: future functionality and not an indication of future releases.
Here's everything in the range:
• 493 Deer Boy
• 495 Petulia
• 496 Black Jesus
• 497 Sunset Boulevard
• 498 Toby Dammit
• 499 Spark of Being
• 500 42nd Street
• 503 Meek’s Cutoff
• 504 River of Grass
• 505 Wendy and Lucy
• 506 Altered States
Deer Boy, a short from last year, probably the best indication this isn't actually anything.
As to what Here Comes Mr. Jordan or the Fugitive Kind had to with anything, is anybody's guess.

Meek's Cutoff is still in print through Oscilloscope. This is probably a filmstruck thing as well.

Petulia would be a perfect WB rescue, let's hope it is on the horizon
