They also listed the titles they were short on stock of in their latest email. Very helpful!

Re: Twilight Time
They are advertising this as "long lost," which isn't quite correct, as I've seen it. You can read my thoughts on it here. It's an interesting film, but there's a half-dozen Fox Preminger's I'd rather they put out on Blu-ray first. Still, it'll be nice to see this in hi-def-- I am surprised there were workable elements for this and not something more popular like 5 Fingers or April LoveJeff wrote:Preminger's Centennial Summer is coming on August 12.

About 2 minutes if that. I had one in my cart & it disappeared by the time I got logged into the checkout.

From FB:
Twilight Time wrote:Fox is clearly slowing down, as evidenced by their output so far in 2014, and we have a whole raft of titles coming from them -- yes, you are right about Sony and likewise we have a bundle of big titles planned over the course of the next three years...we are currently scheduling MGM/UA titles through 2017, and in the process of signing deals with 2 new studios, as well as bringing in a lot more from overseas...so catalogue lives on, at least for a while longer!

This is great news. 2 new studios, hmmm, who could that be?EddieLarkin wrote:From FB:Twilight Time wrote:Fox is clearly slowing down, as evidenced by their output so far in 2014, and we have a whole raft of titles coming from them -- yes, you are right about Sony and likewise we have a bundle of big titles planned over the course of the next three years...we are currently scheduling MGM/UA titles through 2017, and in the process of signing deals with 2 new studios, as well as bringing in a lot more from overseas...so catalogue lives on, at least for a while longer!
I hope The Ox Bow Incident is one of those Fox titles on the raft.
But they always seem to include some doom and gloom.

I'm guessing the Best of Everything will eventually be coming, as it was one of the "Vote" titles that never materialized after losing. I'd love for them to tackle more of the noir holdings (Whirlpool please dear God)

Paramount and Universal seem the most obvious, but it'd be great if they could arrange something with Disney.FrauBlucher wrote:This is great news. 2 new studios, hmmm, who could that be?

Yes! Emphatically seconded. And add Fallen Angel, Daisy Kenyon, and Where The Sidewalk Ends to that. Preminger's body of Films Noir is mighty hard to beat.domino harvey wrote:(Whirlpool please dear God)

Re: Twilight Time
Fox deserves some credit for upgrading some pretty deep catalog titles, but the absence of noir Blus is puzzling. Kiss of Death (not my first choice by a long shot) and Nightmare Alley should be no-brainers. Somewhere In The Night!

Re: Twilight Time
I recently purchased my first Twilight Time title, which happened to be Broadway Danny Rose, in honor of Gordon Willis. I'm probably going to get Crimes and Misdemeanors and now Radio Days at some point, so as long as they keep releasing Woody Allen movies, they can likely count me as a customer.

Re: Twilight Time
Looks like the French Violent Saturday disc has better Special Features than the forthcoming TT disc. The Brannigan home movies are one of the neater bits of original bonus material Twilight Time has come up with though. I've never thought much of that film, but at least they're trying.

Re: Twilight Time
The Eureka disc has the same transfer and extras, but is more English-friendly. (The video essay is in French, and isn't subtitled on the French edition.)kingofthejungle wrote:Looks like the French Violent Saturday disc has better Special Features than the forthcoming TT disc.

TT has tweeted that this is officially sold out. I have to say that I'm a little surprised at this title selling out. But it's a goodcaptveg wrote:Steel Magnolias is down to 250 copies.

Re: Twilight Time
It probably helped that this was one of the bigger Sony titles that did not have an equivalent release in Europe, unlike Philadelphia, As Good as it Gets and Sleepless in Seattle (none of which have sold out).
Coincidentally, Steel Magnolias will now be getting several Euro releases this month.

I bet it helped that the recent sale was so close to mother's day. I bet a fair amount of people grabbed it at $20 as a gift.
