It's from Blue (Riva is watching this on tv when Binoche visits her in the nursing home).

It would be hilarious if the cover is just that image turned 90 degrees.

They are really going to fuck up the covers to some of the most beautiful films of all time by choosing THAT to screencap and slap on the front?!

What....? What are they going to do with Red? Paint the cover green?

This can't be for Blue.

Hmm...I don't think so. The menu bars usually have more of a darker shade. There's also a cut off bar for the year, which the menus don't have.

It's a cover, they've done this before by revealing a cover in installments.

Do they think that just because it's in a box no one will give a shit about a crummy cover?

I'd complain about it being bad, but I am too busy being perplexed.

Why is everyone complaining over a fraction of a cover? Wait for the whole thing to bitch about it first.

Where's the fun in that?

I'm not 100% convinced this is for Blue, though it looks like that screencap indeed (How the heck can someone immediately think of Blue with a zoomed-in blurred black line?) but anyway, worst fraction of a cover ever, and with all that economic crisis, rioting and disasters, 2011 isn't a very good year at all.

if this is the case (a portion of the Blue artwork), perhaps they'll intend to make a collage (a-la "The Man Who Well To Earth" Criterion booklet/packaging) using a TV screen/tube screenshots of each movie (for instance I think there's the tornado meteo map computer screen in Red... I don't remember a TV screen in White however).
There was a better idea (altough I don't like the White artwork so much) post on :
http://criterioncast.tumblr.com/post/73 ... -the-three" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Regarding Red, just the official hulu Criterion artwork with Irene Jacob :oops: :oops: bubblegum would have been great :

Going to look totally out of place next to the fuzzy TV screen cover though.
