Thank you, folks. The above is basically what I did aside from asking for the extra rental -- the university here has a copy I can check out -- but hopefully they'll take note of the problem somehow. I've actually only had this happen once before with them, in ~6 years, so while I'm not really complaining, I do think they should have totally separate records for widescreen and "standard" editions... but that's the librarian in me talking.

I suspect a Netflix customer made the swap before it got to you-- there'd be no reason for Netflix to buy the separate fullscreen version

I've been unable to log into my Netflix account yesterday and today. If I enter my login info, it just reloads the member login screen, or else tells me I don't have cookies enabled (but I do). I get the same issue on different computers and using different browsers. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

I can get into my account okay, but I did notice that my bookmarked shortcut directly to my queue stopped working yesterday.

I logged in easily.

One more thing: Some time ago, people were saying that if they cancelled their Netflix accounts and re-activated them, their DVD queues were lost. I cancelled three months ago and recently re-activated it, and I'm happy to report that it kept my queue intact. Don't know if Netflix changed their policy or if I was just lucky.

Maybe they just love you more than everyone else?

Well, it still doesn't work for me. And apparently plenty others are having the same problem.

Same with me. Queue intact after restart.

I couldn't log in until I deleted my cookies and logged in again fresh. Now it works fine.

Netflix is still having issues, but if you are having problems you should at least be able to access your main profile if you enter the site through this link. Other profiles won't work though.

EDIT: Customer service found a way to get my other profiles to work. Log in to your primary account as explained above. Go to Your Account/DVDs/Settings/Account Profiles. Click Edit for the profile you're trying to access, change the password to something new, and then you should be able to get into it again.

Well, Swo jinxed me ... Netflix conked out on three different browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox) on my laptop. Swo's link in the post above works, but I have to sign in every time, which is a pain.

Although, on my PC at work, I can still navigate to my queue without a problem, so whatever Chrome settings I have here must be the ticket.

This is the first time I'm noticing that next-day delivery might have gone away: Netflix only today received something that I returned on Friday, and its replacement isn't supposed to arrive until Wednesday.

There's no mail delivery today, that's probably why. They probably got the old disc on Saturday, didn't check it in until today, and then the new disc they're mailing today won't actually leave their postal center until tomorrow.

Never mind, I'm an idiot.

Actually, I think there was mail service today. I sent a disc back to Netflix Saturday afternoon, and they checked it in today. Then they said they shipped out another disc and that I should receive it tomorrow. There certainly wasn't home delivery today, but I suspect post office boxes were serviced, and the mail was circulated.

Mine is three. I can't remember the film, but the first two of the same title both came cracked.

Had to update a credit card number. When I did it, I found my entire queue had been erased.

I'm happy to report that this issue has been corrected. It is now correctly 16x9.

This is a request so vague as to be practically impossible to answer, but as a starting suggestion, why not download the They Shoot Pictures Top 1000 list, then filter by country and era?
