The Train is sold out. I didn't even know it was running low!

There was a 250 copy notice about it a few days ago IIRC

Again, people who follow TT on Facebook, please pass this info on to us

I saw it on one of the other message boards. I hadn't visited this thread from then until now and just assumed the info had also been shared over here too

Ah sorry, I don't actually have a Facebook account and just go onto their front page to check what the next promotion is now and again. And despite being on SAE's mailing list I never get the "running low" emails. Since I bought The Train when it first went up for pre-order, it's sort of been off my radar.

Well, copy-pasting from another forum, posted on TT FB on Monday:

"As we have previously posted, In Like Flint, Our Man Flint, Hard Times, The Driver, Leave Her to Heaven, Bye Bye Birdie, and Bell, Book, and Candle are all getting close - of the more recent releases, the Thunderbirds twofer is moving briskly."

Is that supposed to be the notification that The Train was running out?

There's also a Facebook post from July 18:

"FROM SAE:
Fewer than 250 copies of THE TRAIN remain. Limit is strictly one per customer."

I just liked them on FB, so I'll try to post that stuff when I see it.

Ha wow, I thought Judgment at Nuremberg would be coming from Kino for sure. Heaven and Earth was a Warners release-- are Warner titles now on the table for TT?

There's a couple of surprises there, especially Heaven and Earth since i'm sure it's still Warner and would be an obvious one for an Archive release.

I was still sure Criterion would have released Jean Brodie at some point.

It might be similar to what happened with Badlands & Criterion. Warner not interested in doing a blu-ray themselves and Oliver Stone pushing for TT after a presumably good experience with Salvador.

Or Warner is the other studio they were negotiating a deal with, which would be huge.

Per TTs Facebook.

"It's a "one-off" driven by Oliver Stone who really wanted us to put it out."

Well, not surprising, but disappointing compared to what could have been.

Twilight Samurai is the one I'm really excited about. Otherwise, I've decided to lay off these guys unless I get mondo rich.

The Hongkong Blu-Ray of Twilight Samurai might work out cheaper. It's a good presentation of the film and the English subtitles are solid.
