By the way,
there is a new Nolan boxset coming from Warner in France, which includes all eight of his films, including Following.

With Janus touring a 4k resto of Rome Open City, could we expect to see this getting a stand alone release your do we think the whole War Trilogy will get an upgrade.

They discussed a possible blu ray set of the War Trilogy at last year's Wexner talk, but also said that all three films would need massive restorations to make it feasible. If they've done Open city over, maybe they have the others in the resto pipeline?

As long as they get "Greetings" to release
with "Hi, Mom!" as well, I'm all for it.

I believe that like previous Nolan boxset in France, Memento and Following will be in DVD only.

Juliet of the Spirits is showing with an iTunes HD release date of September 16th. Hopefully a blu-ray release isn't far away.

Confirmed by Terry Gilliam at DragonCon that The Fisher King is forthcoming at some point.

Oh yeah, I hope so. I wonder if this will be a straight upgrade or a redo.

I'm glad to hear this. I know that this isn't a popular sentiment, but aside from
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (which he only co-directed), this is the only film of his that I even halfway like.

That's fantastic news.
I'm not sure there's ever been a worthwhile release of The Fisher King anywhere on DVD/BD, so this'll be something to look forward to, for sure.

A poster on the bluray.com forums shed a little more light on The Fisher King. Apparently someone had asked Gilliam about a Criterion release during the Q+A portion of a panel (presumably for Zero Theorem) and he stated that he was going to finish work on the new the transfer of The Fisher King after the convention; which means the disc is already in active production and should be out in the first half of '15. Apparently another audience member asked the same question about Baron Muchausen and he said that there were no current plans for a Criterion release of that film.

It is, and for obvious and sad reasons I recently was really hoping this would happen.

Yes, definitely for that reason too. I'd say The Fisher King's easily one of my favourite films from Gilliam and Robin Williams, featuring probably one of his best performances.

Does anyone else want more Claire Denis in the Collection or is it just me?

Yes. Beau Travail needs a proper release.

It's most definitely not just you.
Unfortunately any active interest, or the rights, appear to be unavailable.

I'd love to see Beau Travail, Trouble Every Day, 35 Shots of Rum, and Chocolat join the Collection.

While all great films, I'd far more prefer Denis' films that are so far without an English-friendly release, beyond film festivals, to get some attention first.
Namely the wonderful No Fear, No Die, her short films, and documentaries.

35 Shots of Rum already has a perfectly good American release.

There's not much chance of Cinema Guild upgrading it (35 Shots of Rum) to BD, but they're such a good company that I'd be unreasonably defensive if someone asked Criterion to buy the rights from them and "save" the movie, like the one time this guy suggested someone buying Killer of Sheep from Milestone. And it is a good DVD.

This is such a cheap way to garner empty discussion. What's someone gonna say, gee I wonder

How come criterion hasn't released Tetris on bluray? are they so stuck up that they'll only release TV and movies?
