Really. This is like a wait and see type thing, with low expectations going in. When was the last time any of them did anything worth while? If it wasn't for Scorsese (who I might add might turn this into Departed 2, not Casino 2.) this news would be skipped over. Too bad Pacino could of never joined the "gang" so-to-say in the early 90s.

If it was anyone but Scorsese, I probably wouldn't have bothered posting it here. Those three films had guys helming it who couldn't direct traffic next to Martin.

Sheesh, I don't understand how you guys can get so excited for what may very well be another (half hearted) effort from the Coens yet downsize the idea of Scorsese working with two of the best actors of all time... it's not as if they lost their talents while cashing in the past decade.

Hoping for Pesci to have a big role in this. Would love to see some Pesci/Pacino screen time.

Stone wasn't all that bad. Interesting in spots, albeit more for Norton's character than De Niro's. Still, I don't regret seeing it, and it required more from De Niro than simply showing up. So I'd say it was 'worthwhile'.
That said, my initial reaction to this news is a little like my reaction to each new Rolling Stones tour. Which is basically, "good for them."

I'm pretty sure Cybil Sheppard, Albert Brooks, Cathy Moriarty, Cheech and Chong, Griffin Dunn, Catherine O'Hara, Rosanna Arquette, Jerry Lewis, Sandra Bernhardt, John Goodman and Ving Rhames could make appearances.

Haters are going to hate. Personally, I'm just happy that there will be a Leo-free Scorsese film for the first time in a decade. He's done excellent work, but it will be a fresh change of scenery to bring DeNiro and Pesci back (never thought I'd type any part of that last sentence).

What you said about the Leo-free film stuff could go hand in hand of why people feel Marty hasn't done anything good since 95' (though I don't think that). So the "haters" might just feel that way until we see Pesci smashing someone's face in.

Interesting
article from the Hollywood Reporter on Don Cheadle's involvement with the Miles Davis biopic, which by now is still a screenplay being passed around to see who bites. At this point in his life, I think Don could pull off playing a younger Miles as well as in middle-age.

Hopefully it's better than his two most recent films. A Woman, a gun and a Noodle Shop was pretty underwhelming. The few reviews of Under the Hawthorn Tree I've read have unfortunately been almost all negative.
