....and with the recent announcement, I was ecstatic they were on such a roll (of titles that I didn't want to buy). I came so close to buying the French blu ray on my Amazon.fr binge last week, but decided there was a wee chance it might turn up on Criterion, so I held off. Oh well.

It's not like it'll cost you any more from TT than it would have from France. Also, the French disc appears to use a dated DVD master and I can't see Grover Crisp allowing it out like that in the States. I wouldn't be surprised to see it get a new 4K transfer first.

Actually it would. It's part of the buy 2 blu rays, get one free sale, but not many of the other Wild Side blu rays are in the sale. the cheapest I've gotten a TT title is about $26.

This would be incredible. It's a brilliant show - sensitive, bleak, thematically mature, but also not afraid of swinging in the other direction for episodes where absolutely nothing happens other than light, drunken hanging out. It really stands out as something unique in the mass of Western tv shows of that time, and it's aged quite well. It's certainly major Peckinpah, and as someone wholly resistant to Twilight Time up to this point, I would pre-order this in a split second.

Your description has certainly got me interested. At 13 episodes it would be 3-discs at most, so I'm guessing somewhere in the $49.95-59.95 range.

If you want to buy The Blob, do so right now or you will lose your chance to do so. From Facebook, another update:
THE BLOB UPDATE:
SAE has informed us that as of last night there are approximately 1,500 copies remaining...the 1 per person limit will remain in place until sell-out, which is expected to be in the next 2-3 days...

Huston's Moby Dick and Hammer's The Hound of the Baskervilles confirmed as 2015 MGM titles via Facebook.

The DVD for Moby Dick looks awful, I wonder what kind of restorative work MGM (or was that a Fox release?) did before passing it off to TT

TT have released a handful of stinkers image wise, but for whatever reason they seem to have got the pick of the litter when it comes to MGM's catalog, compared to Kino et al. Only Zulu was subpar but they released that primarily because it's one of Redman's favourites. They apparently rejected some MGM transfers that ended up with other labels due to image quality, so hopefully that indicates everything they've got from them will be above average.

It looked pretty dreadful on MGM HD too. (Didn't make it through much of it, with lots of other options rapidly filling up the dvr at the time.)

On Facebook they said they have at least one of the MGM Truffaut titles.

I was hoping Criterion had picked them all up.

Redman said in the KillerPOV podcast that The Bride Wore Black (1968) is coming in January.

He also mentioned that Zardoz (1974) is possibly going to be scheduled for February.

I always hoped that Criterion would release Breaking Away, but I'm glad to see it coming out on Blu-ray.

Happy to see a hopefully terrific looking blu-ray of this regardless of which company releases it. First Point Blank this year, then The Heretic, The Emerald Forest and now Zardoz...good times for us Boorman fans! Hopefully Hell in the Pacific and The General aren't far behind, and I'd love to see a BD of Leo the Last as well. And there's also Queen and Contry which I doubt I'll be able to see at the cinema, but a home video release can't be too far away.

Have there been any rumors of UK editions of any/all the MGM Allen films? I'd much rather save a few hundred dollars and skip the TT editions.
