Yes, it's left over from the Kindergarten Cop April Fools prank. The very next page is for Carroll Baker.

She played Edna Purviance in Attenborough's CHAPLIN, so perhaps she discusses the actress in a bonus feature for an upcoming A WOMAN OF PARIS release.

Pretty sure with today's announcement of Surge being brought back, Criterion realized nothing they could release could possibly compete and threw in the towel. RIP Criterion Collection

They spent all day tweaking Tootsie cover artwork, but never made it better, so finally gave up and went home...

Hideo Kojima is in control of Criterion's marketing team I think.

So the one time no one here complains about the announcements being late, or speculates that they won't be coming today, this is how they reward us?

Well since you brought it up, why are the announcements ever late? Shouldn't it be automated and ready days in advance?

How hard is it to announce four Blu Ray releases?

I would like them to do what MoC does, take a couple of minutes and announce them on Twitter. Then tomorrow they could do the little cover art celebration on their site.

I think that it's usually because they're still waiting on art assets. They'll occasionally announce titles with placeholder art like they did for Y Tu Mama Tambien, that's usually in cases when the art isn't going to be done within a day or two, and they put it up weeks later.

Actually when Y tu mama tambien was announced the artwork was pretty much done (and it leaked on the same day), Criterion just made some minor changes to make it worse before oficially revealing it.

Surely they won't make us wait ALL day to find out what one new thing and one re-release thing will be forthcoming in December, will they?

Last December they released two new titles, one upgrade, and a 6 film box set. The December before that they released two new titles, one upgrade and a 3 film box set.

Wow a great line up:

Safe, upgrades of The Night Porter and Time Bandits and finally an Eclipse set: Kinoshita and World War II!

The Kinoshita set includes Port of Flowers, The Living Magoroku, Jubilation Street, Army and Morning For The Osone Family.

Looks like the delay might have had something to do with cover art after all... The Night Porter has a placeholder.

Wow what a disappointing month. No WCF box set is very troubling (vis a vis the rights issues). Glad to see an Eclipse, surely, though.

I completely disagree: Safe is one of the very best films of the 1990s, the extremely underrated Night Porter has been crying out for an upgrade (and contextual extras) for over a decade, and finally Time Bandits re-enters the collection. And that's even before we get to Kinoshita on Eclipse.
