I quite agree with Ribs too. I've been very open-minded with what Arrow has been releasing, especially under the Video branch, but I've grown extremely weary of their deluxe treatment of what turns mostly out to be mediocre-at-best movies. So when a non-negligible chunk of the remaining movies are recent stuff that don't feel particularly memorable (like Aniara or Satanic Panic, for instance), that doesn't leave much.
I quit my job in July 2019 and thought the lack of funds would leave me frustrated with Arrow's output, but it turned out they're actually probably the one label I feel I'm really not missing much : I just had a quick look and out of their 2020 releases, I've found only 9 out of 39 I would probably have bought. That used to be a single month purchase to me.

But I don't doubt some are very happy with Dream Demon, Blood Tide, I See You or Edge of the Axe. I'm actually happy not to see too many releases I'd like to buy but don't have the money for !

I've personally been perfectly happy with a number of recent announcements, but if they keep announcing titles like Pitch Black & Mallrats, I might start thinking that way myself.

I'm not a particular devotee of Mallrats and don't have an opinion on it - I just appreciate it not being a complete bottom-of-the-barrel movie that has 40 votes on IMDb and is something that people have heard of. Arrow's been playing a little bit too much in that sandbox for my liking lately which I assume mostly has to do with the bulk the exciting studio titles they've been able to acquire lately will be in the 4K pipeline.

That's how I feel too, which is why I don't understand when people constantly complain that a label's not releasing (in their opinion) anything worth buying. I mean, I understand, it can be disappointing, but I'd be happy enough if all label's were disappointing more often than not in their announcements.

I’d rather they allocate their resources to rescue movies worth rescuing, but yes, certainly in the long run I’m just saving money. I would rather be tempted to spend it on great movies though

I don't disagree. I'd rather be poor with a collection of great restored films, than poor with a collection of regrets.

Got to think that Dune will be one of the unannounced UHDs

Both welcome releases, though I recall being underwhelmed by the Wu-Tang inspiration. The only copy of Black Rain that I've seen was such terrible quality it practically ruined the film, which is terrific, so I couldn't be more excited to revisit it properly.

All thee of them are great contenders for 4K UHD releases now in my opinion.

I'm willing to bet Basterds is gonna have a UHD.

Yes, finally some more Imamura! That's the best news of the lot, in my opinion. Happy about Lynch and Shaw Bros too though of course, both the kind of thing I would love to see Arrow tackle so glad they're getting around to it!

A proper edition of True Romance would be welcome too.

Dreville's La Fayette? It was released on Blu-Ray by Gaumont from a new 2K restoration late last year

I don’t believe Arrow has ever used a screenshot as a clue. It’s probably a bad idea in general to take the Arrow “clues” as anything more than simply suggestive. After all, they once used a photo of a bulldog in a military uniform as a clue for a film called Doberman Cop.
