wouldn't the "silent" guys with the knives indicate a silent film of some kind? That's beyond my purview, but feels like something French for some reason by the way the guys are drawn. the knives are clearly the most important part there. 4 guys, 3 knives, and one silent leader who looks sort of French?

The guy who jumps out the window

The cop
Xs play a big part in the film.

Maybe a grave? Since they teased Inside Llewyn Davis, maybe that's for Blood Simple? Tho it is missing the shovel...

Are we sure that's an eye on the fishing line? It sure looks like two small planets or suns and a moon to me. Could that be the clue for Two Days One Night? It also resembles a bug as well...

I'm just not convinced it's an eye. Sorry if someone else has pointed this out.

It's simple all we need to find is a film shot with a fish-eye lens. (Other than Seconds)
or...there's Hook-eye = Hawkeye= Last of the Mohicans (Tourneur or Mann)

The lady with the flowing hair looks for all the world like Naussica, but I can't imagine Disney outsourcing to them, much less being able to let Ghibli do it. The two suns make me even more depressed that the original Star Wars still isn't out there

:p. They could signify Linklater's trilogy, but it's more likely that they're Two Days, One Night. Can't believe I had to have someone point out The Fisher King to me, but yeah, that must be what that is. Inside Llewn Davis is a bit odd, that's a fairly recent release and the Coens don't tend to do many extras. Clock could be After Hours. I was thinking maybe The New World for some of the colonial-looking stuff. Can't figure out anything else for the life of me.

I'm now sure we've been overthinking the soldiers as being their own clue: without anyone distinctive amongst the group, like a Napoleon, a Barry Lyndon or a Hawkeye from Michael Mann's Last of the Mohicans, then they're probably just the guys who came over in the New World ship moored in the distance.

I loved Inside Llewyn Davis. An odd choice since there's already a decent BD of it available. It'll be interesting to see what extras Criterion comes up with.

I'm terrible at guessing these drawings, but I'll give it a shot.

The splotch under the bridge reminds me of either lava (Under the Volcano upgrade?) or ice (Altman's much-maligned Quintet?).

Could the car on the bridge be a clue for The In-Laws or The Out of Towners? Really random, I know.

Definitely going with the guesses that the eyeball is for One Eyed Jacks. But could it also be a clue for a Bunuel early films set that includes Un Chien Andalou (hence the eyeball), L'Age D'or and Las Hurdes?

The odd looking group chasing Harold Lloyd looks like The Brood. And that has been in the Criterion pipeline for a while.

No idea what the group with masks and knives could be.

I feel as if the woman below the bridge has a dignified pose, but with her flowing blonde hair she could not be Joan d'Arc. At least not likely the Joan of Arc adaptation already in the Collection. Someone posted earlier about the possibility of this clue representing Jane Fonda as Barbarella. Although I am not convinced she is Barbarella, if you view this female figure withinin that context, then the badly-rendered ground goop to her right could be the Mathmos. Mathmos being the steaming lava-like weird plasma-ness which figures significantly into the second half of the Vadim film. For that matter, it could also be the hole in the ice floes of the Forrest of Weir beyond SoGo where Barbarella uses her "terra-screw" to avoid crashing. I am trying to avoid convincing myself that these are correct guesses because I can't imagine that Paramount would let Criterion have this.

Has anyone noticed at the end of the bridge closest to the bottom of the picture what appears to be a vent blowing those papery strands that are often tied to vents. Must be something but I'm stumped.

No I'm certain that the bridge is unfinished, and the "papery strands" are in fact the internal parts of the bridge sticking out.

I feel like if it were Napoleon, the solider in the lead would be noticeably shorter than the rest of the army.
