Just like NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN had a C in front of it on Filmstrick and everyone that wasn’t aware enough (especially those folks over at the other forum) thought it was a forthcoming bluray release.

Fixed
That's what happens when you post before coffee

The studios would never license permanent streaming rights to most of Criterion's Hollywood releases, even if CC could afford them, which it can't.
That is my operating assumption. I would expect the Channel to not have, e.g., the Wes Anderson films, but also wouldn't be surprised if they show up occasionally for a 60-day "director spotlight" and then roll off.

Looking at the fucked up teeth in the mouth of a horse with a bow on it's head, like it's some sort of present? Don't get it.

It wasn't on that list of the 30 titles announced in the deal between Janus and the Czech NFA, but a different release of it appears in the last picture from the Shelf Help thread.

Doesn't look "up" when using the PC interface -- still just Movie of the Week (and coming attractions, etc).

Oh. I'm at work so I could only check the website which is still showing as coming soon.

Edit: oops I see Michael already mentioned that.

Needs a full-collection Browse, needs a more detailed Search. But it's day one and I trust they'll get there. The announcement of April films and featured collections didn't mention 24 Frames or Berlin Alexanderplatz, nice to see both of those available.

I found one OOP title so far and that's Army of Shadows. Anyone else find any other OOP titles?

Am I crazy, or is there no way to just browse a full list of everything on the service?

Army of Shadows was part of the debut-month announcement. It might be only a temporary title, or might be a sign of things to come from SC. (Probably the latter, as I just bought the SC R2 Melville & Buñuel sets.)

It looks like a lot of that material is already available. For instance, most of the Eclipse titles I could think of are up, plus not-on-video films like Utamaro and His Five Women and Record of a Tenement Gentleman. At last I can go back to watching Wild 90 every morning when I wake up.

There's clearly a huge wealth of content there, I hope they put up a more complete browsing option soon.

Also desperately needed is some kind of hyperlinking of metadata. I can search "ozu" to find all the Ozu films, but I can't click on his name on the page for Tokyo Story and bring up the same results. Criterion has already done all the work for their website, it just needs to be implemented on this site.

Yeah I felt the same way about the hyperlinking--I was surprised that in 2019 that wasn't already part of the site. Essentially, there's great stuff there and I appreciate where things are at now, but there's a lot of room for very easy improvement. And yeah, the more time I spend on the site, the more I dislike not knowing what is actually available without searching. I can kinda guess, but that's a pretty stupid way of browsing a library.
