OK, this isn't necessarily the worst cover in the world (although, it's certainly not the best). I just like it because it translates the title for us non-Spanish speakers. #-o

Yeah, that's Paramount bread and butter now. Almost all of their current covers are disgusting. At least in the past there was the possiblilty of an original poster being used, now it's just cut and paste with terrible Photoshop bevelled text.
I get Paramount promos at work all the time and I am almost never urged to watch an unknown film by the cover. If anything it's the opposite. I frequently miss out on good Paramount films because the covers don't represent the film in anyway.

I'd just like to comment on the idiocy of the "Full Screen Collection" banner. Does Paramount really market its films this way?
Never mind the quality, feel the (lack of) width.

zedz, in defence of Paramount, I'm assuming the title in question is 1.33:1 OAR.

Well, sure, but that's quite a strange banner to have across the cover of their new releases. Do they also say "Widescreen Collection" for other films? Kind of a goofy marketing technique.

Actually they do say Widescreen collection on the other releases, but I think that is usually to help the customer when they release both widescreen and p&s. It is kind of stupid to put fullscreen on Miracle since widescreen aspect ratios didn't come out til 1955.

And the sad truth is that this cover is better than just about any of Keaton's R1 releases. Poor Buster!

"Consistently responsible for some of the best-looking DVD editions."
But not responsible enough for the quality of the DVD covers.

Forget the graphic layout and typos; any cover that has six exclamation points on it is automatically crap.

I like the "NOW PLAYING"s awkwardly typed over the marquee on the Roan logo. That's the stuff dreams are made of.

Did anyone ever realize how ugly and dull this cover is, expecially the font with that pink shadow.

I've never seen that cover with a pink drop shadow whether it be in-person or online.

The folks at
88MPH Studios and DVDAnswers
have been all over this one already, but in summary:
1. Slimy color scheme looks inspired by box of ecto-cooler.
2. Lack of cover credit for Ernie Hudson.
3. "Gift Set."
4. One of the most recognizable insignia of the 1980s gets shitty, photoshoppy augmentation and is
inexplicably tilted five degrees to the right.
5. It's "
II", like the fingers and the poster say (the movie itself has no title card). Not "2". And it's not "Ghostbusters 1", for that matter.
EDIT: I want to make it clear, the image linked in this post and displayed in the post below was not something that I did, but was done by Sebastien Clavet from
88MPH, the imprint that produces the
Ghostbusters comic book series. As they appear to be the only professional outfit who give a shit about this franchise anymore, and specialize in graphic artwork, it's rather ridiculous that Columbia didn't bother to solicit any input from them on this.

A dog leers at a woman's ass, apparently after groping it with his paw. The woman's denim top clashes with her slightly-different colored denim shorts, yet dogs from the Village of Photoshop Dissolve and faces in floating squares grin approvingly. As Videohound would say, "WOOF!"
I'm a clerk at a video rental place. This title has been sitting on the used DVD sale rack since I started working there...a full year ago.
