Warning From Space is a must have and Cold Light of Day has piqued my interest even if I find the novelty slip cover to be just a little bit crass, although I'm aware I may be being a little bit overly sensitive with regards to the latter.

Man.... out of all the major boutique labels for this year, Arrow by far has the roughest /most uninteresting release slate.
I'm going to bet on an Inglourious Basterds UHD being a big holiday release for them. That would make up substantially imo for most of their output in 2020.

I have seen a decent amount of people calling Arrow's 2020 output poor, and I can't disagree more. There are some mediocre titles for sure (The Comic looks, frankly, awful), though most are interesting. (Their Tsukamoto set is already a lock-in for one of my favorite releases of 2020.) I've seen most criticisms lobbed at the newer horror films they're releasing, but I like the idea of giving the new generation of horror filmmakers a platform.

Team Arrow is Functionally Irrelevant Right Now
I applaud their left-field Reichenbach rescue, but that’s about all they got going for them lately

Don't forget their Kieślowski set, Hôtel du Nord, and The Mad Fox

I'm not saying Arrow doesn't have the UHD rights, but I have a hard time seeing Universal licensing out the UHD rights to one of Tarantino's biggest hits.

What a great month for saving money, though.

Academy teaser for Friday's announcement:
Postcards are line-specific, right? So that would mean this wouldn't be Dune... Maybe they got the "Academy's been dull lately" feedback and shuffled it over?

I kind of think it could, finally, be L’Atalantide after much delay.

Bertolucci's "The Sheltering Sky" without a doubt.

I was going to say The Cell, but I cannot see Jennifer Lopez on any of those dunes.

Which suggests the idea of Arrow releasing Tarsem Singh's far better film The Fall, but I'm sure it'll be either Dune or either of the other above mentioned titles.

November brings...
The Sheltering Sky
Academy Award-winning director Bernardo Bertolucci (The Conformist, Last Tango in Paris, The Last Emperor) brings a stunning adaptation of Paul Bowles heartbreaking classic novel to the screen that Vincent Canby in The New York Times called a long, beautifully modulated cry of despair... the sort of dark, romantic movie that only Mr. Bertolucci could bring off.
In the hopes of rekindling their marriage, sophisticated American couple Port and Kit Moresby (John Malkovich and Debra Winger) set off for North Africa intending to travel through Algeria uncertain of exactly where they are heading but determined to leave the modern world behind. They are instead tested to their limits by the unfathomable emptiness and impassive cruelty of the desert.
A distinguished and emotive follow up to his Best Picture-winning The Last Emperor (Academy Awards 1988) and a sensual highlight in an extraordinary filmmaking career, The Sheltering Sky won a BAFTA for Vittorio Storaro s outstanding cinematography and a Golden Globe for Ryuichi Sakamoto s haunting original score.

In
an interview with James Flower at Toho Kingdom about the Gamera set he confirms that "other than Warning from Space, [they] have one other vintage Daiei toku release of a similar scale/era coming up early next year, but nothing else in the schedule at the moment. Needless to say, after the success of Gamera, that may change very soon…"
Hopefully they can get the Yokai Monsters trilogy and package in Miike's The Great Yokai War as well.

Either that, or the
Daimajin Trilogy as they use footage of it, not just stills or posters, during one of their introductions.

I really hope this is a UHD. It has a 4K DI but would need to be graded for HDR.

Arrow said they have two more UHDs before the end of the year, while Wolf, Inglorious Basterds, and Dune all seem likely candidates. (It is completely possible they’re all coming but one is scheduled for January, of course.) Chances for it seem good regardless.
