Hopefully this will mean the further restored version of Metropolis from MoC in 2010?

We already know they're working on Metropolis, but I hope this means MoC is releasing Potemkin on Blu some time, too =D>

Isn't it most likely BFI that would release that, considering that they're working on a restoration, and so chances of Blu would definitely be high (so fear not).

Any news on Jean Eustache?

Odd question, but... is Eureka/MoC doing OK? I appreciate all their amazing recent sales, but often when a company slashes prices like that (40 pounds for five Pialat films!) it's a bad sign....

They probably make just as much money per sale through their website as they do through any online retailer. There's also the fact that they might make sales they never would have made by making great offers like this.

Is the Eureka version of The Blue Angel reccomended or can we expect a MoC release in the next year or so?

Either the Eureka or the Kino, they are both fine, with similar extras. I don't know about a forthcoming MoC, though.

Nick, is MoC aware of this new (2009) resto of Antonioni's LE AMICHE? - would make an excellent DVD/Blu Ray, there's only the 2001 Image R1 about with Eng subs, which could do with improvement!...
LE AMICHE (1955, d. Michelangelo Antonioni) - Restored by Cineteca di Bologna at L’Immagine Ritrovata with funding provided by GUCCI and The Film Foundation. In Italian with English subtitles, 104 min.

I responded in the Criterion thread but I prefer MoC so this would get a thumbs up!

Quite apart from the fact that there isn't ANY english-subbed dvd of "La signora senza camelie". Apart from "Le amiche", this should be the first and probably more urgent choice for more Antonioni, though I agree that the Image disc of "Le amiche" could be improved upon (though it isn't bad at all for its age).

We're on it. Thanks for the hot tips -- we looked into this a few years ago but weren't happy with the materials. Fingers crossed.

Quick update: 2 all-new titles

Slightly re-energised after the festive break, we're gearing up to announce two completely new titles in a few weeks. Neither have been hinted at anywhere previously.
One is by a director not currently in the MoC Series and it will be a DVD-only release. The other is by a director already in the MoC Series and it will be a BD-only release.
We're going to release one grab from each film on our Twitter feed, and the first person to tweet back with the correct name of either film will win a copy (no matter where they are in the world) -- but they'll have to wait about 4 months because we're talking about May or June releases here. There will be no MoC releases in April after our 17-disc burst in Jan/Feb/Mar.
That Twitter feed
Bear with us... hopefully very early February...

Nick, you have a warped sense of being "re-energised."

Unfortunately, the title we were going to announce on Xmas Eve didn't firm up until this week. We didn't want to announce it on Xmas Eve while it still wasn't firmly locked down.

Ah, I see. Well, I'm going to go ahead and take a guess that the Blu-ray title is
Vivre sa vie.

Japanese New Wave title perhaps? Maybe Eureka has gained the rights to Shinji Aoyama's Eureka?

Nick, that little guessing-game of yours is nice and intriguing, but without a few little hints this thread will soon be cluttered with some very wild speculations. So, any additional clues?

Hopefully one will be Italian or German - otherwise I'm not interested
Unlikely I know as Die Nibelungen and Metropolis are good shots for later this year.

Sorry - the next clues will be the screengrabs at Twitter.
