Pre-ordered on Amazon. Will switch to Eureka if the price/promotions are better.

An easy decision for me since I don't own any of MoC's Mizoguchis (though I do have Criterions). A stunning set that I can't wait to crack into. Ugetsu on Halloween?

When will Late Mizoguchi: Eight Films be available for pre-order? Sorry if I missed an earlier post with this information, but the thread is quite long.

It's available now at Amazon UK for £38 less VAT if you are outside the EU.

I had a hard time finding it with basic searches like "late mizoguchi," "mizoguchi blu-ray," etc. so I'll post a direct link for others who might be having a similar problem:

Eureka newsletter wrote:Unfortunately we have had to move our Van Gogh release back one week to the 30th September, however the stock is due with us Friday next week when we will despatch all pre-orders, apologies for the delay to all those who have pre-ordered this title. All of these titles are available to pre-order in our webstore here. Order yours today for early delivery.

To make up for the wait for Van Gogh we have a special Maurice Pialat offer for you, purchase any three of the other Pialat titles in our catalogue and we'll send you a fourth Maurice Pialat title for free. This offer is strictly while stocks last and limited to one free disc per person, the offer finishes on Friday 20th, when the Van Gogh discs arrive with us.

Every time I get that email, I'm hoping that all the October-December pre-orders will be up (and that there will be a special offer if you buy a crazy amount of stuff, which I intend to do.)

I don't even have a blu-ray player, but bdlover so convinced me that this was a set not to be missed that I've taken advantage of the Eureka offer. At £4.75 a film, £9.50 per pair, for a completely loaded package with a giant book, I just couldn't say no.

Amazon is showing £39.13, which is £1.13 more than the £38 I just ordered it for direct from Eureka. Even more expensive to get comparable shipping too.

Looking forward to this. I'm still a Mizoguchi virgin so I'm ready to be wowed.

Sorry, I should have specified that it's cheaper through Amazon if you live somewhere where they remove VAT, which currently takes it down to £32.61 before shipping.

It's probably close to a wash if you just, order the box set because Amazon charges shipping outside the UK. However, if one were to bundle it with, say Red River and the Dr Mabuse steelbook, then you've got yourself a deal.

New Eureka offers. Also, 78 of the 100 copies of the Computer Chess poster have already been sold.

In case anyone at Eureka is reading this, I would just like to make it clear that I am buying the Nosferatu dual format steelbook because it is dual format, not because it is a steelbook. That is all.

Amazon.co.uk is currently having a sale for a lot of MoC dual formats (mostly @8.25 GBPs). Deals are also on other items from BFI and Arrow. Check the blu-ray.com deal page for quick reference.

Thanks, though that mainly just served to remind me of all the stuff that I bought earlier this year that I probably should have waited to buy cheaper.

Thanks. I spotted this post a few days late, but the sale is still going on. Apart from a few MoC duals, I ordered the BFI's Ozu Gangster Films at 7.69 GBP. And unlike with B&N, I'm confident that I'll actually receive it.
