Adrian Utley of Portishead raids the closet in a new video. Expect a The Passion of Joan of Arc Blu soon.

I thought it might be a hint pointed at Stealing Beauty which has been mentioned in the past as possible.

The new score of The Passion of Joan of Arc is being performed in NYC at the White Light Festival at Lincoln Center on October 29. No mention of screening format (though they do DCP and 35mm at Alice Tully Hall, I believe) and no mention of any new restoration, though.

I don't remember well the planes in this movie (sure the Japanese and US flag implies something like Pearl Harbor - another Michael Bay Criterion wow! :D ), but couldn't it be Douglas Sirk's The Tarnished Angels which is in b&w and feature Dorothy Malone (which is sooooooo   in this movie) and Rocky Hudson ?

I would die to see a color Douglas Sirk movie on blu-ray by the way, but The Tarnished Angels was really amazing...

Not that, recently released on DVD and entirely different planes.

Mr. Arkadin Blu-Ray? At least the smaller plane somewhat resembles the one Welles flies?

It would be very nice to think so. However if a Japanese Zero crashed in Holland (the site in the film) maybe it should be re-titled 'One of our Aircraft is Hopelessly Off-course'

The only Corsair vs. Zero movie I can come up with off the top of my head is Flying Leathernecks.

That was a bonus found inside their laserdisc edition of Spinal Tap.

Is it possible, though, that Criterion obtained the rights again since the previous blu-ray from 2009 was released by MGM?

Spinal Tap is owned by Studio Canal. Even if the licensing deal with MGM expired, it would probably be rereleased by Lionsgate. I don't think a Criterion rerelease is even possible until the Studio Canal situation changes.

We're announcing our January slate in exactly one week. What are you hoping for?

I wouldn't be surprised if Criterion announces a blu-ray release of Two-Lane Blacktop for January, concurrent with the UK MOC release.

WOW, if the Blu-ray picture looks as good as the test one just posted, we are in for a real treat.

It's a few days old, but why hasn't this been brought up? (I doubt Criterion posted this photo for no reason.)

I've been excited for a reissue of Scanners for a long time now. I honestly hate The Brood, but it'd be nice if Criterion has the rights to all of these.

I also want that weekend poster like it's the holy grail. I'm the odd movie dork who doesn't like having film posters but I think that one might make me crack. It's perfect!

And that would indeed be the release of the year for me if they put out all 4 of those Cronenbergs in a box. Just They Came From Within getting a perfect transfer would be enough for me.
