So, it sounds like Sullivan's Travel is getting upgraded.

Not surprising considering Arrow released this.

They were explaining how involved or uninvolved filmmakers are with their releases, and Malick was an example of a filmmaker that was reserved in the past but slowly opening up to being more involved.

"Not a disc", "something else", "it's beautiful"! OMG, Criterion's having a baby!

The way it was phrased, however, made it sound as though there would be more involvement from Malick in the future (implying another release). At least, that's how it sounded to my optimistic and keen-to-exaggerate ears.

What a terrible place to forget the mic! Anyone hear what she said about Melville coming back?
Also, since nobody has listed it yet, more Lynch, Erice, and Passolini coming, no Claire Denis in the works

They said it's taking a really long time, supplements are done but the restoration isn't.

She basically didn't answer. She said "Which? Army of Shadows...?" as though trying to find out what specific title they were inquiring about, and then left it open ended/unanswered.

Would love to hear an answer on future WCF sets, the trouble with MoC doing them has me concerned.

More Warner Bros. releases (plural). Specifically:
A Pre-code title - "Probably"
"Big list [of WB titles] just went around [the Criterion office]. If half of that list is approved it will be a big thing."
"Another Malick film from Warner Bros." - This would have to be The New World, right?

The way they discussed Brighter Summer Day at length suggests a standalone release.
We knew El Sur is coming. Wonder if Quince Tree of the Sun or others are too.

I could see them doing
Deconstructing Harry,
Interiors,
Another Woman or
Stardust Memories.
I don't think Woody would block a release because he doesn't want extras produced. I think he's fine with them as long as he doesn't have to participate. Although, he'd definitely approve the color timing and transfer but would opt for no director sticker.

The fact that no one even cared enough to ask about this is probably a sign of something in and of itself.

It would've been nice if someone had asked about Andrei Rublev instead of wasting time talking about things like whether Tootsie belongs in the Collection or not.
