Finally, yes! The absence of this title from their prioritized release schedule has been a headscratcher for years

I'm sure this has been answered somewhere in the thread, but where do
I find these title announcements?

Yes!!! I'm also excited that Lang's
Fury is getting a blu-ray which just leaves
You and Me (Universal) from Lang's underated "social trilogy" with Sylvia Sydney without a blu (I think the elements for that are in bad shape or something). Anyway
Fury is a great film that I figured was never getting an upgrade.

Fury is so exciting. Such a hard-hitting film, and I have to admit I didn't really expect it was high on their list of priorities.

These recent announcement slates are fire, and I hope it keeps on burning.

Delighted to see the Minnelli and Lang, top-tier films for both of them, but I'm also happy to see Party Girl. It's not top-tier Ray, but I like it.

Completely agree on all three of these opinions.
Party Girl is at least okay, unlike the previous Ray release that Warner Archive released. It's easily his best looking movie.

Same here. All three are definite buys for me.

I think there is a French person working somewhere in WA, because they do often manage to pull out films loved by Cahiers but few others in the midst of their usual question mark approaches. This is a great month!

Warners likes upgrading old DVD box sets title by title, so I think it’s only a matter of time until
I Am a Fugitive From a Chain Gang!,
Blackboard Jungle, and
Advise and Consent close out the
Controversial Classics set

I'm crossing my fingers for Advise and Consent, personally!
Here's hoping they also haven't forgotten about Adam's Rib, Tea and Sympathy, and Freaks. I may have to hold on to my old DVD-R copy of The Next Voice You Hear, though. I can't see them ever upgrading that one...

Freaks would be great. Willing to bet that will come to Blu. Maybe they could add The Unknown in the same package, at least some older Warner DVDs have it.

Yes!
The Devil Doll too (which seems likely given they've done
Mad Love and
Doctor X, all of which are in the Legends of Horror set). Given the length of some of these I hope they consider more double features like the latest Val Lewton Blu.

Have to wonder if Freaks may be a little too controversial for WB to release in the current climate. If so, hopefully Criterion's willing to take it on.

With the new ownership of WB they may be less conservative of what they release. Time will tell

If something is too dicey for Warner then I kinda doubt Criterion would touch it. But I don't think Freaks is in that category given that it's readily available on digital storefronts and on HBO Max, plus TCM is airing it as part of next month's Halloween lineup. There isn't a physical edition in print in the U.S. but there's nothing very odd about that—I don't think the '33 King Kong is in print here either.

As early as 2004 (I think?) Warners had the good sense to contextualize Freaks with some really useful special features, including a documentary that went into the lives and careers of many of the cast and that featured interviews with folks from the circus-performing world, some of whom were differently-abled, weighing in on the film from a representation standpoint. I would hope that would be enough to placate anyone who would decry this film being rereleased. But who knows?

November releases include some movies called Some Came Running and Fury, as well as The Last of Sheila, Thin Man Goes Home, National Velvet, and Party Girl.
Also
Ladies They Talk About, which I believe is the first film from the Forbidden Hollywood sets to be upgraded
EDIT whoops I see Ribs caught this already
