It's a reference to a particular episode of The Simpsons, wherein a ventriloquist and his dummy (named Gabbo) start a ratings war with Krusty. The show is mainly about Krusty's Komeback Special.
Not to go too far afield, but that episode has got to be one of their all-time bests. It features an interesting array of guest voices, including Hugh Heffner, Elizabeth Taylor, Bette Midler, Johnny Carson, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers!

I've actually seen this, don't know why I didn't catch on. But I still don't get why this is being shouted out here.

isn't it because most of the episode was spent on creating the buzz for the forthcoming Gabbo? come to think of it, that might also apply to the MegaMall advertising as the second coming of Christ episode. anyway, Eclipse has been coming for over a year now. i guess that's what the comment was about.

Y'know, I think I heard a death whinny over in the Infighting & Navel Gazing forum. Quick, godardslave, while there's still time!
Being the generous person of good faith that I am, I'm taking you for your word asphaltjungle. So, if they're planning for September and it's now March, add a month to account for delays due to the Image deal, another two for new cover art, another one because heaven forbid they start in December...
My money's on first quarter 2008. Where's my bookie?
Edit: Because I'm also a little loopy, what I intended to be 2007 came out as 2008. However, after consulting past trends regarding the Eclipse sublabel, my bookie advised me that sticking with first quarter 2008 might not be a bad idea.

September sounds right to me. That would get some of the horror/exploitation titles on the market in time for Halloween.

Take a break from cracking me up all the time and think about it for a split second.

Tuesdays are when new releases come out. Therefore, they can launch Eclipse, a cult/horror line of films, on the horror holiday. Convenient, no?

The impressionist art for an exclusive avatar representing the ambiguous strangeness drifting through this thread... that's the best I can come up with.

I'm guessing maybe the website, the typefaces, the package designs.... maybe a logo.

Ha! I think Mr G's slave dropped an "n" in by mistake when he (or she) wanted a "v". A little more stirring, and voila...!

How would they figure out which person working for them is the friend of "asphaltjungle"?
