Gary, are any of your reviewers working on the just-released UK Blu-Ray editions of "Chungking Express" and "Ashes of Time Redux"?

I'm guessing Artificial Eye didn't send out review copies, as neither Blu-ray.com nor DVD Times have reviews up either (both sites tend to get the WKW and other HK titles reviewed very quickly).

Gary, rather than just linking to the main page of DVDBeaver at the end of each post, would it trouble you to link to the afore-mentioned update directly?

It's no trouble at all, but my intention, in all this, is to get you to go to the DVDBeaver homepage - perhaps use one of our calendar links, submit an answer to our contest, maybe see, and peruse, an article by Jonathan Rosenbaum or one of our other contributors or just see something else that sparks your attention - encouraging you to return. I'm afraid my motives are somewhat ulterior in that sense. The homepage can be slow but is being redesigned as we speak. Beyond disseminating all this information - we do wish to 'stay in business' as well. Making the homepage a content portal is one method of doing so. I do this in place of filling the review/comparison with advertising (ex. side, top and bottom animated banners - which I, personally, hate). One of our competitors puts the text comments of their reviews over 2 pages to squeeze in more ads.
Anyway, let's see if we can survive another year.

I find it tricky to locate a review sometimes, but I have never minded being directed to the main page and the caldendar is updated regularly with stuff I miss or forget about. I'll look forward to seeing the new design, though, Gary.

I've no intention of being nasty by pointing this out, but the main page is such a mess that I can't recall the last time I've even visited it. I'm sure I'm not alone in just googling "dvdbeaver ________" to find whatever film I'm looking for.

Will the redesigned site be less dense with text? The red line breaks on the main part of the page help a tiny bit, but it still seems like a massive cluster of links.
Two suggestions I might offer would be to limit the number of recent additions to the release calendar that are visible at one time on the main page, and to have some of the links on the left side (CD Japan, DVD Basen, YesAsia, etc.) appear only once rather than in three or four places as one scrolls down. I realize these links are part of what keep DVD Beaver afloat, but having fewer of them and spacing them a bit more might result in just as many people clicking on them rather than scrolling past them, which is my reaction. DVD Beaver offers so much information that it can be overwhelming to have so much of it it viewable all in one place.
Thanks as always for the site, Gary.
