No entitlement issues on my part; I'll be happy to purchase a Blu-ray version of the set "as is", although I imagine other fans will be disappointed if TWIN PEAKS: FIRE WALK WITH ME is not included as rumored (along with those long-awaited deleted scenes from the film). But since the hard work of scanning all the 35mm film elements and re-editing all the episodes has already been done for the 2007 set, hopefully they are pooling resources to recreate the special effects footage in HD for a more seamless match this time around.

By comparison, the producers of the ALIEN ANTHOLOGY Blu-ray set took the opportunity to properly ADR the work print version of ALIEN 3 so subtitles wouldn't be required (as they were on the ALIEN QUADRILOGY DVD set) as well as provide a completely new master for ALIENS (and for ALIEN, I believe, which also fixed a sound continuity error heard on the "Director's Cut"). I see recreating the effect shots for the TWIN PEAKS series to be comparable to this.

Yeah sure, they had to redo the FX for the Star Trek: TNG HD versions, but I assume that is a perenial best seller. We shall see.

Apologies if I was unjustly confrontational - I would also be disappointed if the US doesn't get a Blu-ray release of Fire Walk with Me soon - that film is begging to be rediscovered, it still boggles my mind that it was so poorly received upon initial release.

A tie-in to a cult show (released a year after it was cancelled, this being an era, where people weren't typically catching up via streaming and box-sets) that barely makes sense to fans of the show being poorly recieved doesn't surprise me. I'm more surprised it ever got off the ground. Mind you I like it, but it pretty much defines "Big in Japan".

Twin Peaks: The Entire Mystery - July 29th, 2014

Man, that's going to be an expensive day for Blu-rays. That cover art is pretty fantastic.

Not just the television series, but Fire Walk With Me and its deleted footage! This is going to be a long two-month wait.

Most of those deleted scene clips from FIRE WALK WITH ME look spectacular - the Bowie stuff, especially!

I wonder if it will be possible to view the deleted material integrated to the film, or if they'll only be available separately. Either way, July 29 can't come soon enough!

Twin Peaks BD boxset out on July 29 with NEARLY 90 MINUTES of deleted/alternative scenes for Fire Walk With Me (even new Bowie footage as evidenced in sneak preview)

Recognise several scenes from the FWWM script including what appears to be the scene where Leland teaches Laura and Sarah Norwegian phrases. Can't wait.

Somehow it got flagged as a "restricted item" (perhaps too many customer complaints about receiving bad copies). I've tried getting Amazon to change this for items in the past, but they won't budge.

I sold mine on eBay without issue - my guess on Amazon is that people were receiving them with bent spines or disc trays that'd lost adherence to the cardboard. It was a pretty lovely set when it first arrived brand new, but the packaging wasn't exactly built for the long term.

Ah, that makes sense. The packaging on it was pretty poor; i think the disc trays started to fall out on mine before I even got to the third disc.

I have a feeling Lynch would not approve any formatting that would allow integration of the deleted material into the feature. But with 90 minutes of footage it's possible that the deleted scenes might be presented in an order that will almost feel like a second feature.

According to the new "TWIN PEAKS: The Entire Mystery" product description on Amazon, it sounds like those special effect shots were, indeed, upgraded for this set: "...picture upgrades to many shots in the TV series...".

I don't have to worry about them cropping to widescreen, do I?

Fair price though considering we get both seasons, the film and 90 mins of deleted scenes. The only question now is if they'll carry over the series-related special features from the DVD Gold Box set but that should be clarified over the next few days.
