I think that's more of an announcement than a hint!

Interesting they're going that route with the image. All the same Baker on Blu should be very nice. I wonder what if any extras will be added on.

Maybe an interview with James Cameron? Though I bet it would primarily deal with Cameron saying how good his Titanic movie is.

CriterionCast just tweeted: "A Night To Remember, Last Temptation Of Christ, Letter Never Sent, War Room, Lean / Coward Box"

LETTER NEVER SENT!!! If this is true, I'm overjoyed!

A bit underwhelming, It would need a major release like a Chaplin...

I'll consider buying Letter Never Sent and Lean box though...

Lean/Coward would presumably be In Which We Serve, This Happy Breed, Blithe Spirit and Brief Encounter, assuming the last of those isn't too strong for what is presumably an Eclipse box.

It's a podcast about the Criterion Collection hosted by Ryan Gallagher. Ryan usually posts the new announcements before Criterion does.

Who is Ryan Gallagher? And does he know anything about the Handmade Films? I'm tempted to buy them just to have anamorphic versions but I don't want to buy them a third time (or second in some cases).

He's a reclusive mystic with the very real power of being able to see a few hours into the future once a month.

Ryan Gallagher is just the guy who runs the Criterion Cast blog/tumblr/whatever. He posts a bunch of Criterion-related information that is usually available everywhere else, and hints the monthly announcements twelve to six hours early every month. For some reason -- possibly boredom -- some people find this controversial.

Is this real life?

I actually know that... But I was going to ask, What is the point of "My Criterion"?

I don't think my ignorance is that bad because my questions were about things so specific that I didn't think a Google search would be merited. Also, you have to consider that new people need to learn somehow and for every question I asked there are probably five or so people just reading things that also don't know.

It's just good-natured ribbing. All new users are subject to hazing in an amount directly proportionate to their rate of posting.

I will accept that so long as you can justify "My Criterion"....

There likely is no "point" until people can interact with each other. But of course, then you kinda just have this message board. And inventorying your collection/keeping a detailed wish-list is something I assume many people who take the time to sign up for it have already done. Though it is prettier...

It's a place like the locker room after gym class your sophomore year in high school where one may boast "mine's bigger than yours!"

I think a "long wishlist" would imply an inadequate view of one's self.

Hey, all right. I think we knew this was coming but it's good to know it's imminent.

Now they need to get working on getting The Insider from Disney...
