Not familar with the film but acording to this review of the Eureka disc, The R2 release of The Clouded Yellow was licensed from Janus films.

Sounds like a fun little movie! Jean Simmons is always great to watch. Maybe Criterion will release it in a British thrillers Eclipse set?

Interesting. Perhaps as a Arthouse Essential?

This is an April Fool's joke, yes?:

EDIT: It appears that this is the case per the first sentence of the page. Jesus H. Chrizzle, how did I miss that?

I was truly scared this was true.

You may not have missed it the first time around. We initially posted it as an April Fools Joke story without any indication of what it was. I added that Note From The Editor the day after, just so that people wouldn't mistake it for a true story.

This was posted on the Criterion twitter account. If I'm really off the mark, that's Antichrist. Which makes sense with the whole IFC deal.

I initially didn't think it was Antichrist, but then I remembered the scene where he was into the fox hole, which had pretty claustrophobic camerawork if I'm not mistaken.

That's gotta be Anti-Christ. We shall know in a week and a half.

That's precisely what that is.

I had a feeling Anti-Christ might be coming our way based on its availability on Netflix Instant Watch; lots of Criterion's releases of recent films this year (Revanche, Che, Gomorrah, Hunger) have shown up on there prior to their given release dates.

By that logic Brief Interviews with Hideous Men will be coming out from them as well... Which I hope isn't the case.

It was on NetFlix a little before it was actually available on DVD and Blu-ray. I watched it end of February or so.

Put both pictures side by side and I'm not entirely convinced.

Pretty sure the first one is a publicity still, as I don't think there's an actual shot in the movie where she walks past him while he's in the fox hole. Remember, at this point in the movie he's actively hiding from her and she's off in the distance, not silently walking past him.

It is from Antichrist. Here is a screenshot from Netflix (at 1:04:20 in the film). Since the Twitter photo was clearly taken with a camera phone and a very shaky hand, I've adjusted the Netflix screenshot to resemble it a little more closely (yes, I'm bored).

Actually, that's not a publicity shot. It is from the movie, just not the scene you're thinking of (and not the one in the Twitter photo either). That shot occurs at about 0:30:42 in the film (here's another Netflix screenshot).

Guadalcanal has a tropical terrain and the screenshot looks more like a pine forest. Check it out at 1:19 in the trailer of Antichrist.

Wow, okay, well thank you for the detective work, and for clearing that up.

People are commenting that it is from a film named, House.

Definitely Hausu/House - check out the last but one screengrab on this review. Not an exact match, but enough to confirm I'm sure.

If a Blu-Ray edition of House and a Blu-Ray edition of Antichrist are announced next week I will flip out. Amazing.

Saw House a couple weeks ago-- that screen is def from the film.

I think Criterion will release it in October.

I hope the presence of the M.Hulot's Holiday poster in the store means a blu-ray release will happen this summer. [-o<
