I can't wait to discover Ride The Pink Horse; definitely the highlight of the month for me.

Pretty great month, honestly. 5 new titles and 2 upgrades.

I'm happy to finally have a Cries and Whispers upgrade, regardless of what it looks like... Extras sound really great too! I just wish it looked better...

It must have been a long day over there. Criterion has an announcement up for April (read March) Titles.

Seriously. Also has the typical problems on the Coming Soon page (old art work for
Cries and Whispers and
Hoop Dreams, incorrect spine #s for Morris films). Someone was trying to get out of the office at 6pm.

Much of what is on your list Minkin is speculation and titles that was said to be coming years ago. There are some updates needed, yes, but it's not all that pathetic. I welcome any emails regarding titles that are confirmed. No point to update Hulu title lists as Criterion has a very nice one on their website.

Also available for pre-order on Amazon for March 3 - Vampyr DVD and Two-Lane Blacktop DVD. Most likely, repackage.

The Los Angeles-based nonprofit Friends of the Cinefamily, which supports the
Cinfamily/Silent Movie Theatre, is in the process of restoring Robert Downey, Sr.'s
Greaser's Palace. They've already struck one new 35mm print and intend to continue working on it in the new year. Might not signify an upcoming Criterion release, but I'm optimistic.

Greaser's Palace is with Westchester Films; so Criterion probably has home video rights.
The Museum of Modern Art in New York released a press release a couple days ago. They are featuring the Wim Wenders retrospective after it debut's at Berlinale. The press release specifically mentions Lisbon Story and Buena Vista Social Club as being Janus titles. (I'm sure Janus has much more; most if not all his back catalogue.) Janus will be theatrically releasing select films in the fall of 2015.

Thanks for the heads up. This bit struck me as being a bit curious:
North American premiere of the full-length director’s cut of Until the End of the World (1991)
It's screened multiple times throughout the U.S. in Wenders' preferred cut, including several screenings at the American Cinematheque's Egyptian Theatre.

In the recent edition of Film Comment (Nov/Dec 2014) it is reported that Marco Bellocchio's China is Near is being restored by Sony and an Italian Company.
I cannot imagine that Sony would release this on DVD/Blu Ray themselves. Could it be a future Criterion title?

This week's Free Films set on Hulu is comprised of 13 Satyajit Ray films. I'm hoping that this means the Apu Trilogy will be announced sooner rather than later!

MisterLime has said
at the Home Theater Forum that he's heard that Criterion has Ken Russell's Women in Love, The Music Lovers and Valentino (with the caveat that it "may be just a rumour"). I could see Criterion releasing Women in Love and The Music Lovers, but Valentino would certainly be a surprise.

I would be thrilled to see Criterion release many of Ken Russell's films. Particularly Women in Love and The Music Lovers. I also really love Salome's Last Dance and would love to see it on Blu. I hope these rumors turn out to be true.

Takashi Murakami shown at Criterion's offices on Facebook. Jellyfish Eyes! Maybe this is old news that I'm just unaware of....?

True, but I also found this:
"Big thanks to Criterion for allowing us to screen the film, which is not scheduled for American release until mid-2015."

He previously hinted at Criterion having Women in Love and The Knack some months ago. It certainly seems they've licensed another batch from MGM.

Warner Brothers discontinued the dvd releases of Before Sunset/Before Sunrise a few weeks back. It was the same week they discontinued the current dvd/blu of The New World and a number of other titles that sounded very Criterion-y. This is certainly happening; the only thing I question is the idea of a box set. It would be nice if Sony/Warner/Criterion would partner on a set but it's more likely to be 3 separate releases.
