Isn't there a longer cut of Despair floating around though? I swear I've seen it mentioned.

Between the Arrow sets, Artificial Eye sets, one of the BA boxsets, the Fantoma releases, the Second Sight Welt am Draht and now this, you can nearly get everything with no overlap.

What about those BD releases? Have they said anything about that lately?

...And I just found on their website that Hannie Caulder is also due on Blu-ray. Yet another title I just got is being announced for Blu. ](*,)

Yep. Unless, of course, you work for Dov Charney. Speaking of the film, does anyone here recommend it? I have not seen any of Preminger's movies after Bunny Lake and wonder if this one is worth a look.

Sands of the Kalahari is going to the first in the Paramount deal to be
released simultaneously in DVD and Blu-ray on the same day. The release date is August 2nd.

Here's a Paramount film that wasn't originally mentioned in Olive's deal: The Colossus of New York is

This is why Olive either needs to start doing special features or keep their prices down, because I can't be alone in wanting to get that. Just not for $20. Even on Blu that would be a $10 film.

I'm with you on that.
Just discovered on IMDB that at least another Paramount title is being listed as distributed on DVD by Olive: The Brain (1969). Don't exactly know if this means a future DVD release is planned or if they've licensed more titles from Paramount for future release.

The editor's note in the new Film Comment mentions "multiple" 70s Godard and The Devil Probably as being forthcoming (also according to IMDB).

^ I believe they have Numero Deux (well atleast IMDB says so for what that is worth), but it would be great to learn if they have the Dziga Vertov group films.
Edit: Looks like IMDB also list Comment ça va? and Ici et ailleurs. So those 2 along with Numero Deux are prob all of the "70's Godards" they have (with Historie(s) du cinema).

It's Preminger's best comedy, but I think his interest in naturalism and realism sometimes undermines the humor. Elaine May wrote the script so if you are a fan of her work in the 70s you'll probably want to check it out. Skidoo might make for a more enjoyable evening because its such a horrible train wreck. Such Good Friends is actually semi-decent.

So any subscribers receive the latest titles yet? It seems to be another dry spell, I haven't got anything since the last huge shipment.

Received a shipment from Olive this afternoon with the seven latest titles. I'd assume that those of us who signed up for the subscription service in July can expect one more shipment. Despite the frustrating lack of communication, this ended up being one hell of a deal.

Breaking Glass is listed on Olive's site - in both DVD and Blu-ray formats - for release on August 16th. They've also noted that the film has been remastered from a new 35mm print.

Got the two Fassbinders today. I've only just skipped through them, but both look and sound excellent. I don't know that I've seen it mentioned anywhere, but I Only Want You to Love Me has an hour-plus making-of documentary included.

How did you get it so soon? My copies aren't shipping until the first Monday of next month. Anyways I'm glad that they've built up the finances to lease extras onto their discs. I wonder what other films won't be barebones, I hope Skidoo is amongst them.
