What`s the status on Out 1 and the Qatsi trilogy? any more news on that? will they still be released or did they cancelled those?
Um, Out 1 is news to me. If these Rivette conversations are occurring in pms please include me. I have nothing to offer in return aside from gratitude.

I wouldn't get too excited about Out 1 just yet, I think that the speculation still stems solely from Criterion saying "Out 1 is definitely not out of the question. Anyone else want to chime in in favor?" on their Facebook page.

I'm almost speechless and I feel like an idiot for missing this. It should have been front page news on the entire internet, so thanks for pointing it out. I recently watched Out 1 and was completely blown away by it. I expected it to be somewhat boring (even as a big Rivette fan) but I was immersed and fascinated the entire time.

Completely forgot about that confirmation for some reason.

So let`s hope they get it done soon.
If it isn`t gonna be their first Rivette, they better announce Paris Nous Appartient soon [-o<

Thing is, someone on here (sorry I can't remember who or in which thread), last week or so said Criterion replied to their email asking if we'll see any Rivette soon with a 'Nothing on schedule'

I would interpret these to mean that Rivette is on the way, but a WAYS away. I don't think we can qualify this any more unless someone has a scoop.

Didn't IFC pick up Rivette's new film, or did I just totally dream that?

Cinema Guild did. It's going theatrical right now.

IFC did pick up THE DUCHESS OF LANGEAIS but they told me in an email they do not plan to release this film onto DVD.

That'll make collectors' items out of those Blockbuster exclusive DVDs.

so what pseudo confirmations are out there still that are possibilities for wednesday? last two months took care of quite a few. Not sure what to expect this week....maybe Au Revoir les Enfants blu? Tokyo Story Blu? what's left in the IFC queue?

Mangold article on Criterion's website... hope this means Girl, Interrupted is coming.

For some reason I'd think it would be Heavy which I barely remember and couldn't even express excitement or disappointment if that was the case -- though I did like Pruitt Taylor Vince in it.

I know that it's just pseudo-OOP for new figure-8 packaging, but I'm somewhat hopeful that Floating Weeds/Story of Floating Weeds will be upgraded to blu instead of Tokyo Story. It'd get two Ozu titles out that BFI hasn't blued yet, nor even have in their queue.

Hoping for La Notte, plus blu reissues of the other two. And Red River.

If the hints that Criterion Cast have given are right, then it will be Topsy-Turvy, maybe The Story of Gilbert and Sullivan and Mikado, as well as another Essential Art House set.

It would be strange but wonderful to have three Gilbert and Sullivan adaptations/related films at once. Would any other month have ever been so intertwined? That and Criterion, throw the Essential Art House line away- or at least turn it into a Bluray/DVD line and release in a similar vain to the Eureka side of MoC/Eureka.

I'm guessing Kes, Tokyo Story, Ne Change Rien and maybe a mainline boxset?
