UGH. This is fucking unbelievable. I hope this is just some made-up story to get their name in the papers, it would be the most offensive remake ever for so many reasons. Has Tarantino completely lost his mind?

It is a made-up story. For what it's worth, I think it's a far lamer one than the other made-up story of the part going to Tera Patrick.

So far we have Britney Spears and Tera Patrick.

God help us.

I think we can all be honest and say Tarantino wants to bang both of them, at the same time, while on the set.

Since Verhoeven succeeds where Tarantino fails, I don't think it's inconceivable that Tarantino harbors a bitterness toward him and his work, at least subconciously. There's certainly no way that Inglourious Basterds will be as entertaining and nuanced as Black Book. It's even a better "girl power movie" (to use Tarantino's words) than Kill Bill.

Dogville is an unexpected choice, but considering it's one of the best, most important movies of the decade, it's no surprise seeing it on such a list. But seriously: Friday?

How reliable are those people? I'd kind of like to see him revisiting the characters like Truffaut revisited Antoine Doinel every ten years. I guess this would also mean if his output now is a new movie approx every three years then this would be the project after whatever he makes next.

Does anyone know if the Friar's Roast has been filmed? I'd much rather see that than the people they usually torch on Comedy Central.

Coincidentally, I am listening to Howard Stern's show from today, and he's interviewing Whitney Cummings about the roast - it is not filmed. Apparently, it went on way too long and was 4+ hours, including extremely boring non-comedic contributions from Harvey Keitel and Samuel L. Jackson, but there was an amazing set by Eli Roth? Somehow, this is extremely believable to me, even though it might surprise some people.

By the way, even though she's obsessed with "this is the difference between men and women!" tropes in her regular stand up comedy, Whitney Cummings seems like a very, very funny woman in interviews and at roasts. Hopefully someone figures out what the fuck to do with her.

Ya, everything I read made me uninterested (seems like a bunch of tired drugs and feet jokes) but I can't lie and say I'm not interested in the (totally ignored by the press) sets by Edgar Wright and Eli Roth.

Judging from Howard (who sometimes misses the point altogether), he said "some British director who worked with Quentin" was extremely boring and droned on and on. So, I've chosen to believe that Edgar Wright's set was boring.
